HAPPY BIRTHDAY
|
12:01a - The new year is upon us! Skip is still in bed. He's been in bed since last year! 12:28a - Wow... its been nearly a half hour since the new year rolled in. Where does the time fly? I have a touch of a headache again/still. Took some Tylenol PM's (again). I don't like taking them every night like I have been. 1:46p - I got up around 9:30a and took Kira out. Its a bit cold out and it may snow tonight. I fixed some black-eyed peas for brunch. I helped Calisa with setting up OutLook Express ... and Chuck called to wish me a Happy New Year. I had him on my cell phone and 'lisa on the house phone both at the same time. That was getting confusing. It was a weird feeling, speaking to one person on the West coast and one on the East coast with me acting as relay here in the Mid-West! 5:33p - What a boring day. I've been "almost" having a headache all day. I haven't done hardly a thing. I am SOoooo bored. 8:14p - I took a meal down to Don (the homeless guy). I made him some rice, turnip greens (with fresh turnips & onion), a piece of chicken and some of this morning's black-eyed peas. 11:25p - It's supposed to snow tonight. I walked across the promenade while ago (taking the food) and the wind was blowing hard and was freezing. My new coat kept me quite warm though. Skip just left for work and it must be even colder now. It was sleeting against the window a few moments ago. It seems to have stopped now. I better see if it turned to snow now. 11:28p - It doesn't look like its snowing yet, but I expect it to be white in the morning. The forecast calls for "heavy snow" tomorrow. Skip will be going over to help Adam load up the U-Haul when he gets off work. I am sure it will not be a pleasant task in this cold weather. Jack is due back from his trip to California tomorrow and then they leave St. Louis. A new adventure for them, but a depressing loss for me. I have the "stranded" feeling for some reason. I know its silly; I have a job and don't need their help any more, but it was good to know I had friends nearby. More like family than friends in fact! 11:32p - Time for bed! 7:51a - I have rice cooking and its time to take K-dog out. There is a light snow on the ground this morning as predicted. I have a slight twinge of the headache lurking in the shadows this morning. I wish it would go away. I haven't had any alcohol all year! 8:15a - It was cold out, of course. The wind isn't blowing much though, so it wasn't all that bad. 8:56a - It's about time to head out into the wild white yonder. Friday - January
3, 2003 I missed WORK today! I had another damn headache. This is very depressing. I felt so BAD this morning. I had cold sweats and major nausea. I managed to walk Kira and tried to get ready for work, but I just couldn't. I had to call in. I went to bed and didn't get up until about 2pm. I am so distressed and depressed. This is like the Deltona nightmare starting over again (though not so extreme, of course). To further depress me, I finished editing the "Incubus" AVI file today. It was about 27Gb in size, but I compressed it to a 705Mb MPG file. I tried to save it to CD, but my CD-RW is not working now! I have tried everything I know of, but I cannot get it to recognize a thing. This sucks. I ordered about $20 in Chinese delivery food tonight. Steamed dumplings, Hot&Sour soup and General Tzo's chicken. I got up later than I meant to today, around 11:00am. I had disturbing dreams all night, but no headache. I walked Kira this morning, then came back in and warmed up some of last nights soup. I worked much of the day on trying to get my CD-RW to respond, but no luck. The DVD doesn't work either. I don't know what's wrong, but it's very upsetting. Skip and I watched "Kill Smoochy" (starring Robin Williams) today. It was very entertaining.... much better than I expected! I finally got to open the Christmas card from, and read the letter from, Lisa K. today. She has been through some interesting times. Lisa K. was my downstairs neighbor at Greentree apartments back in 1978/80. (1987 C. South Semoran Blvd., Orlando, FL). We used to be dance partners and had some great times performing in our youthful and exuberant 20's!! She still dances... and teaches dance! I envy her that. Those were "the days" ... as they say. <sigh> 11:30p - I just got back from Calico's. I thought I would risk "the headache" for a few beers and and chips & dip. I chatted with 'lisa for a bit and called Chuck, who called me back shortly thereafter. The guy, "Joe," was working as was Michelle (the "Valkyrie"). She has read hair now and does not look so much like a Viking as she did when I was there last. 11:32p - I am watching the tail end of of "Dragon Heart: A New Beginning" at the moment (again). I missed the premier of "Dragon Fighter" earlier this evening, but it comes on again at midnight. I think I will try to watch it. I am still depressed about my damn CD-RW not working. Just before going to bed, my damned secretarial chair broke! I was leaning to the right and ... POW! A bolt popped off. I went on-line and ordered a new one from Office Depot for a little over $50.00. 1:36a - I am trying to watch "Dragon Fighter," but now the headache is starting to hit me again. I am getting the cold sweat thing going. I am going to fix a glass of ice water. Maybe that will help. 11:11a - I managed to deal with the headache and get to sleep. I got up about 10a. I do not feel very well rested though. I thawed out some hamburger meat on Friday, but couldn't get up the energy to do anything with it; that's why I ordered Chinese. I had to do something with the meat before it spoiled, so I made a meatloaf. I just put it in the over. It's cloudy and cold out, but not extremely cold. It's not very cheery weather though. Skip has been playing his video game all morning, and I am sure, all through the night. He did laundry though and I need to do the same thing. I might walk over to Famous Bar and see if they have any specials or sales. I need to get a few new things. 11:16a - I am so depressed about missing work on Friday. I dread going in tomorrow. I have got to get this headache thing under control. 1:09p - The meat loaf was pretty good. I am still not motivated to get laundry done. 2:00p - I just finished watching "Maid to Order." It was amusing. I am still not getting any laundry done. I need to get motivated. 8:35p - Laundry is done! Kira has been walked and fed. I also walked over to the Mall around 2:30p and bought the 5 of the next 6 books of David Eddings series. I will have to find the #3 somewhere else I guess. Walden Books is shutting down at the Mall the 25th of this month. Too bad. I also went by Walgreen's and picked up some Tylenol to help with the headache and some herbal supplements. 8:49p - I got some Goldenseal when is supposed to help with boosting the immune system and some Ginko Biloba, which helps with brain functions. Maybe this will help with my headaches. Anything is worth a try! 11:37p - My head feels like its under pressure. I hope I don't get the headache. I've had a lot of fluids, no beer or anything, and will take some plain Tylenol before going to bed (its too late to take a PM... it will leave me groggy in the morning). Speaking of bed... time to go. 7:37a - I would rather be back in bed, but I'm up. It's gloomy outside and looks cold. I am going to call the Dr. today and get an appointment. 7:18p - I got my prescription filled today. It was $25 for 9 pills!! My insurance here sucks (compared to back in Orlando). Oh well, some people don't have ANY so I guess I shouldn't complain. I got a response from e-Machines Tech support. I am going to see if their ideas work for me now. I went to the doctor this morning. My BP was 180/120 !! The doctor FINALLY listened to what I have been trying to tell him and prescribed 50mg of Atenalol. He also set me up with a specialist (I seen him on Thursday) and an MRI of the brain (that will be on Friday at 6pm over at MIR5). They took a lot of blood (and other liquids...). I stopped at Cha Yoon and had sushi for the first time today the were not too bad. My new chair arrived today... a day early. Skip put it together for me Lisa Z. gave me a ride to Rainbow's for darts tonight. I sat and waited for everyone to arrive... only had sodas while I waited. We finally played, but there were only 3 people on the opposing team. I took out one game, then the other team forfeited. That was sad and too bad. We only play for about 45 minutes, before the other team gave up. Then we went over to Freddies. I had 2 or 3 "virgin" Bloody Mary's and ordered a "Foo-foo burger" and fries from Novak's. At this point, I had taken my first Atenalol pill, and a couple of Tylenol (Walgreen's version). I had eaten, and I felt good. I decided to risk alcohol. I had 3 'real' Bloody Mary's ! And did NOT get a headache!! YAY!! No headache last night! YAY! Work was busy today, though. I set a hair appointment for the 18th. My doctor's office called in a prescription for a pain killer. I will pick it up tomorrow. I drank some beer tonight! So far, so good. Took my Atenalol. I feel okay. Love my new chair. CD-RW still doesn't work :( This was a busy day. It's late, so I will have to synopsize as much as I can. Got up and went to the doctor, arriving at 11:01. Saw Dr. Campbell. He gave me a new prescription. Went to the CAM Pharmacy to get that and to pick up the one Dr. Avery called in for my yesterday. Went to Chá Yoon and got $25.00 worth of Sushi to go, the back to the CAM to get my prescriptions. It turns out the call-in prescription was called in the the Pharmacy and Barnes-Jewish, so I had to walk all the way over there. Finally found it. Got in line. Then it was finally my turn. The girl asked my if I was an employee, and I confidently replied in the affirmative. She then told me that I was in the wrong line and had to get in the employee line. So... I had to get in line all over again. I finally made it back to the office where I ate my Sushi (the first food I had all day), and enjoyed it thoroughly. At 6:00pm, I met Diana who had rented a hot little Mustang. We went to Target where I spent a little over $100; including purchasing a new sauce pan with a lid. I have been needing one. We went to Macaroni's, where I ordered a salad and some wine. Then we went to Dierberg's (my first time to visit this big grocery store). I called Calisa while I was in the store. IS' oldt' Im' IS Atg' IT' ekC' Ut'ede. IS' ilw' utp' IT' unmeine ny' aim' ayaontk' Utarmore. That will be most welcome! When we got home, it took us 2 trips with a grocery cart and a hotel caddy to get all of our stuff upstairs. Yet, despite all the purchases, I STILL forgot to get milk! Kira was not happy about that, but I sprinkled a little extra cheese over her food. I think it helped. So, upcoming events include an MRI of the brain tomorrow at 6:00p. Another appointment with Dr. Cambell on January 31st. An appointment with a dermatologist as soon as I can coordinate that, and a haircut on the 18th. My calendar is getting busy! 12:30a - Oh... I am in the middle of reading "Dolphin Boy." It is a moving experience for me. This was the very first "novel" that I ever read and has a very sentimental value to me. Mom and I loved the Dolphin trilogy. I have all three of them now and they are all orginal prints. They cost $34.00 total, but I would have paid much more! Having these books is like having a little piece of Mom back. She would be as thrilled as me to know that I have them. Our first bi-weekly paycheck should go into the bank tonight. It will only be for 3 days. 7:00p - I am sitting in the waiting room on MIR5 waiting to go thru an MRI Brain Scan. Scottie called me while I was waiting. I was not something I want to go thru again, but it wasn't TOO bad. 7:41p - I'm on the train... on my way home. Reading Dolphin Boy, by Roy Meyers. A large black girl on the the train asks me the time. 11:57p - My check went in as planned, but I also got 7 hours of over time that I had forgotten about. Aanje Skip eidp' iim' entre (uut' unhedr' aanj ortfeite). Aanj' aalyose, Kaliisa sh' usospuut' iidaazpetz' unmeine ny' uut' aim' ayaonk' uute, uutede. Ose, Y'aatg' ey' aatl' aavy' unmein' uutede! I met Scottie and his roomies at Hooter's tonight. He was talking about opening a Rave Bar (called "Positive Corruption" in Illinois). It sounds very interesting. We also discussed that they are purchasing a house and I could possibly join them in this venture. Skip too (I insisted that this would be a requirement). Denise's parrot broke a "blood feather" today and bled to death! How awful. She had the parrot for 10 years. Very sad We will see where this all goes. 12:00a - I am cleaning in the kitchen and chopping onions. What a fun weekend this is becoming!! 12:48a - I got a little over 6 onions (2 yellow, 2 white, 2 red & 3 green) chopped up and put in the freezer. I went out with Scottie and Denise tonight. We went to Clem's, then to The Complex... and finally we went to Pop's, in Cahokia. It was too loud! I am not sure when we left, but I woke up on the sofa in the living room, conked out. I was trashed and tired all day. I tried to work on m computer some more by upgrading it to Windows XP Professional, but it just got worse. Now WinTV doesn't even work! I am going to have to RESTORE the entire hard drive again. That really sucks. 11:04p - Kaliisa 'aattg' aim' unmeine ny' uut' aim' ayaontk' uut'ede! I went to Talayna's after work today. It was a very busy day. I logged 42 calls! My bank account was all messed up today. Then I discovered that the Magazine Co. charged me again! I had to take off an hour at lunch and go to the bank to cancel my debit card, get a temp card, and have my picture taken for a new card. What a pain! We did great at darts tonight! I played four games and we won all four. I took three of them! We had gone for near last place to third place. Now we will be possibly 2nd place in the league! YAY! Billy came over this evening. I took his Klingon pictures and made him an official jubbie. I think it was today that I finished reading "Daughter's of the Dolphin." 7:45a - It's kind of hard to believe, we're already halfway through the first month. I feel cruddy this morning. I guess I had better hurry. I want to put some rice on. 7:47p - I got my picture from the bank this evening. I have to sign it and send it back. It will be about a month to get the picture-ID Visa/ATM card. 7:52p - I just finished getting the dishes done and the kitchen wiped down some. Now its time to go back to clean files off the old computer so I will have room to back up the new computer before wiping it out. Again! This is so irksome. 8:41p - I just deleted a lot of stuff off the old PC. I hope to have over 2Gb available (it's an 8Gb drive). I also put on some supper. I put on some turnip greens with the 2nd turnip that I got at Soulard. It was getting a bit rubbery. I chopped up and onion, and a half of pork steak. I think it was starting to go bad, but I washed it off real good and will cook it thoroughly. I also added some Sriracha hot sauce to the mix. I made a delicious rice dish with a hamburger gravy for breakfast this morning. It was awesome. Shawna, Colleen's daugher, arrived in town with her troop of dancers today. Earlier than I expected. I went by LZ after work. I sat there and read a big chunk of "Destiny and the Dolphins." It is awesome to read these stories again after about 33 years. It makes me think of Mom a lot, and I also realize there were many things that I learned in those books. The words "crustacean, lattice, cetacean, tsunami Orca and randy" are some examples. I took Friday off, but I did not realize that Monday is a holiday too! I didn't do much of anything today. My throat feels kind of sore, or swollen. I think it may be related to the headache and high bp issues. My computer has been down all day. I have been reloading it and called tech support. They tell me I have to removed ALL new devices INCLUDING the new RAM chip and THEN reload it. That is going to be a pain. I finally met Shawna this evening. We met at The Hard Rock Café in Union Station. I took the liberty of paying for her meal. I was going to go to Talayna's afterward, but decided it was too late. I went to Hooter's where I read some more of my book. The waitress was terrible and I finally got angry and left. I went down to Key West and had a few more beers and read a few more pages of my book, then went home. I got my hair cut today. It looks pretty good. Poor Jo sounded awful; I think she has bronchitis. I didn't feel all that good again today, but I got my computer pulled apart and reloaded as instructed by e-Machines tech support. As I expected, it did not make a difference. The CDRW still will not recognize a blank CD. I will have to have the send me a new CDRW, but I don't have my new Visa/ATM card yet, so I will have to wait! Grrrr! That damn magazine company is causing me so many problems. I wish negative energies in their direction.. I am slowly getting the PC back. I obviously have my web design software running again, and my email is up, but that's about all 8:47p - Kira had some kind of *spell* tonight! She had a bowel movement while standing by the sofa, almost as if she were unaware. (A solid stool fortunately, so it was not an awful mess). Then she lay down by the front door while I threw on some clothes and a coat to take her outside. She would not get up and I started to get very concerned. She finally got up and walked down the hall, but very slowly, with her head low. She seemed to be in distress. I got her on the elevator, but she sat down and did not want to get up again. I had to ride the elevator back up and down before she could get up. She walked a little more briskly once we were outside, but still not her normal boisterous self. She seems to be better now, but I want to take her to the doctor. That scared me. I was worried she had a heart attack or something! 8:52p - Speaking of which, I got a note from the doctor today. He says I had a "mini stroke" and believes the headaches are related to the blood pressure. (duh!). I read the radiologist's report on Image Web before he ever got to see it. The "mini-stroke" is called a "lacunar infarct" and is probably old. That's hard to determine. Went out to Clem's and Bastille tonight. Y'aatg' aashtsme. Y'idench' one nwe Y'aatg' ome. Uuthr' apye. Ch' aasw' aadbe. This should have been a good day, but bad things happened. Kira is still sick. She is breathing hard and drooling a lot. I am concerned it may be Pancreatitis. I need to get her to a doctor. I got some more software loaded on my PC today, but I am not going at it very enthusiastically. My Monthly Esperanto club meeting is at 1:30p in U.City today. Diana is going with me (but not to the meeting). I got in the shower at 12-noon. While I was bathing, Calisa called with shocking news. Calais' boyfriend, John was murdered last night! Stabbed to death! It's awful. I only met him once, very briefly, but he was a young, handsome, 18 year old with a bright future ahead of him. It is so shameful. At 12:30, Diana and I head out to catch the Delmar Bus to University City. I had the recent news of John's death on my mind and was worried sick about Kira, so there was a cloud over my head. At 1:30 the Esperanto session got underway and was very good today. We had a new person attending today; a young guy who speak excellent Esperanto. Better than me I think, and with a decent accent no less! Li ankaux parolas la hispanan. OH! I was right about the actor in the instructional video "Pasporto al the tuta Mondo." The character "Ruselo" la sxafisto el Novzelando, is Guy Menahem! I met Guy when he founded FEL (Florido Esperanto Asocio) in Clearwater, FL. I was astounded by the fact that he was only 16 years old and had already achieved so much! I worked with him as redaktisto (editor) por la Stela Verdo. I also conducted a sessionThen I learned the Mr. Glossup also knows Joe Blume, who was my first Esperanto instruisto for about 1 or 2 lessons back in 1979/80. The meeting let out at 3:30 and I met Diana downstairs where she had amused herself reading a couple of books on Virginia Wolf and checking her email. We wandered down to Blueberry Hill where we had a couple of pitchers of Killian's Red and a bunch of appetizers. We had wings, spicy fries, Cajun shrimp and onion rings. We pigged out and really had a pleasant time of it. Diana wanted to go to a movie at The Tivoli, but I was concerned about Kira and wanted to go home. It got so late at Blueberry's that she missed her movie anyway. On the ride home I started telling her about Roy Meyer's "Dolphin Boy" book and my story behind it. I seemed to be the riveting story teller for some reason, and another rider on the bus moved over by us to listen to my recounting of the story. Everyone seemed to be entranced by the story, and I was once again amazed to see my life and the lives of other being affected by this book which so profoundly affect me. I/we got home about 6:30 (I was about to pee my pants!!). Kira had puked in two different places, to my dismay. I took her out and she seemed to be okay. On the way back in I found a cat's litter pan, scooper, and a nearly full container of cat litter which I brought up for Skip. I am sure he can use the cat litter at least. If he doesn't have use for the pan, I can still use it, or maybe Diana would like it. I hate to see such waste though! 8:45p - The delivery person from Mauricio's just arrive and brought me some beer and some rum. I really don't want any rum, but the decanter is empty and I needed to go over the $10 minimum. I mainly just wanted to have a few beers and everything is closed on Sunday. 8:57p - I am about to shut down the PC and reinstall the 512Mb RAM chip as well as the WinTV "WinGo" card. I hope it doesn't screw everything up :( 11:42p - I just got off the phone with Calisa after a 55 minute conversation. Calais is not dealing well with John's death. Who could expect her to of course. I learned that even though he was stabbed in the back of the head, this was not the fatal blow. It was the leg wound that was his demise. He bled to death. Apparently there were on-lookers and he was yelling for help and received none. Not all that uncommon I fear. His mother is going to have him cremated. Calisa insists that they buy the Urn. 12:24a - Skip just got up a few minutes ago. He already turned off the TV and has his video game going. I am sure I will get up in the morning and he will be still playing it. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does. 10:03a - He is still playing the video game, and explaining to me all about it. This is starting to seem unhealthy. He has been playing for nearly 10 hours straight. He just now achieved 10th level or some such and got a tattoo that makes him (his character) impervious to lava. This was a big deal for him. 5:07p - I have not done much of anything today. I did finally get in touch with Dr. Wagenknecht. I found his name and the of the "Pet Clinic" in my Diary entries (that was Colleen's idea). I have added his info to my index file and his phone number to my cell phone. 5:09p - Billy is on his way over to give me a ride to the Vet. 5:10p - He's here gotta run! 7:16p - Bad news. Kira has heart worms. It will be about $325 for her to go through a 3-phase treatment. It will be hard on her and could kill her, but I was told the Dr. Wagenknecht has not lost a dog yet on this treatment. That is promising at least. I am very worried for her. She is also over weight. She went from 61 to 70 lbs. The doctor wants me to cut her food rations in half. She got a shot of vitamin B and antibiotics while there. I spent some time today researching heartworms. I am much better educated now on the treatment, medicins and side effects involved. I finished reading "Destiny and the Dolphins" at lunch today. It was nice to read the trilogy again after more than 30 years! I started reading David Eddings next book, "The Diamond Throne." Kira was perky and energetic this evening. The shots must have really helped. But, she will still have to go through the treatment. I was to get this while she is younger (relatively), strong and healthy. 7:47a - I woke up at 6:00a and could not go back to sleep, so I got up early. I am sleepy now and want to go back to sleep. I snowed today... moderately heavy. Kira is doing fine, other than an occasionally cough. I went to Talayna's after work this evening for beer and wings. It was COLD! 7:58a - It is sunny out, but I'm not fooled. The temperature is currently 1º !! The high today is 7º. 8:19a - It is cold out. Poor Kira was limping before we even got all the way to her spot. Next time I will take her through the garage the way I brought her back in. It might have been salt between her toes, but my poor baby was in pain. 6:38p -Sheesh! It's still COLD out there! It is 6º now. I was up to 8º earlier today, so it is going down again. Instead of taking Kira thru the garage, I took the shorter route and went out to the area where all the dogs usually go. She didn't have to walk through so much snow & ice. 6:47p - I may walk over to Calico's for supper. But its so cold. I went down to Hooter's after work with my book. I had a few beers & buffalo shrimp, then I went down to Key West and had a few beers and saw Tracy. I was just about to leave with Kiersten and her friend Ann arrived. I ended up staying until after the train had run and had to take a taxi home. I was so drunk! I did not intend to get so snockered, but people kept buying me drinks after I was already prepared to leave. This was our first "full" 40-hour paycheck. It was less than I expected. John Shryock's memorial services were held today. The book store closed in the St. Louis Center Mall today. I ordered a new CDRW from e-machines today. I have been trying to record "Incubus" again all day, but the stupid system keeps dropping the sound track. I am so tired of all the equipment NOT working! Movie Star 5 drops the sounds and has memory errors on exit, The CDRW died, I've had to reload my PC 3 times in 3 months, WinTV keeps locking up my PC to the point that I have to repair the SYSTEM file which becomes corrupt... it is just rediculous! Oh... and Citrix won't load properly now either. If its not one thing its another. Kira got a bath today. I went Calico's tonight and translated most of a long article into Esperanto over a few beers and their spinach/artichoke dip. I did not get laundry, or much of anything accomplished today. I have been tired and semi-depressed all day. I still have had no success with recording "Incubus" to an avi file still. I had disturbing dreams last night, all night long. Made rice with hamburger for breakfast this morning. It was exceptionally good. Apparently we were attacked by a virus/worm at work over the weekend. This was a busy day. I went to LZ after work, had a few cocktails. Then I went to Cha Yoon and got some sushi. 10:16p - The sushi was good. I am full. Poor Kira is not. There was no milk, so I had to give her dry food only. She is on a diet, so she did not get all that much of dry food either. She is not happy about it, understandably, and has not eaten. Tuesday - January
28, 2003 I slept like crap last night. My left shoulder was hurting me when I went to bed, and it did not get much better. I got up this morning and got motivated. I got a big pot of rice cooked with pork & hamburger. I fixed a bowl (rather large bowl) and that's all I've eaten so far to day (9:53pm). Applix was down half the day, but I still managed to get 21 calls logged. I also got my taxes done. I will be getting more back than I expected. I used TELEFILE for the firs time. I also filed my state taxes, which I never did before. Oh... I did not mention that Bill & Wanda were in a car wreck last week. They were both injured, but back to work this week. Bill is limping and has a head injury. Wanda nearly got her thumb cut off by the seat belt. I got Kira an appointment for Feb 6th at 4pm for her first heartworm treatment. I was also informed that her other blood work cam back very clean. Other than the heartworms problem, which I have (hopefully) caught sufficiently early, she is is excellent health. Devon's dog, Millie, had 11 puppies today. Two did not survived, but 9 are apparently doing well. That is in Minco, OK, where I suppose one is judged by how many puppies one's bitch can produce.... 10:12p - Kitchen is cleaned! ... but I still need to do some laundry. That won't happen tonight. I am chatting with Devon. Their dog (Millie) had 11 puppies of which 9 survived. That's a lot of puppies! 11:57p - Just ate a couple of burritos. Very spicy... I will regret that! 12:21a - Just had 2 more burritos. Got to go to bed now. 8:00a - I slept adequately, but wish I were still sleeping. I got up at 7:30a and made some burritos to take to work. It is dreary looking out this morning. What a BUSY day! 9:15p - I went to Talayna's after work where I had a couple of pitchers of beer an some jalapeño poppers, while continuing to read "The Diamond Throne.". Then, I walked out and left my satchel there! 9:21p - I took Kira out this evening and called Talayna's from the alcove. Old Don was there. He had a "guest" sleeping under the steps with him. He kept trying to get me to join the. Silly old fart... he know I am not going to EVEN do anything like that!! 9:25p - I checked out some flights to FL today.
