FRIDAY - June 1, 2001
TWO weeks until I move!!

7:32a - Its cold today! I thought June was a summer month!? Oh, well... it nice for a change after years of sweating in Florida.

7:49a - It was very cold out! I wish I had worn my jacket. I may have to wear it to work.

I am glad I have never used the phrase, “It will be a cold day in June before I ...,” ...because this was that day!

Joined Terry at Alibi’s last night. Got to play translator for two young guys from Mexico (Pedro and Mario). We ran into “Jeff and Terry” (the other Terry) and later they gave me a ride home. Got to bed at 3:20....

SATURDAY - June 2, 2001

8:45a - Ick. I don’t feel to good this morning, but I got up and walked Kira and warmed up some rice. I actually got up early enough to catch the X-Men (cartoon) on TV this morning. Its my favourite cartoon.

Terry was going to rent a car today and we were going to go to Meramec Caverns. As I assumed, it never happened.

I sent out my request for tickets to Six Flags. We (Marty and maybe Terry) are supposed to go next weekend.

Went the the Galleria Mall today. Bought a pair of Denim shorts and some Trolls to add to my collections at work. Three big ones (standard looking trolls) and 3 miniature ones. I ate at a little fast food place in the Mall (“Little Tokyo”) that served a couple of kinds of sushi. I got an order of California rolls. Then went to see a movie, “The Animal.” It was one of the stupidest movies I’ve ever seen, but it was funny. It had me... the entire audience, actually.... laughing en masse at places.

I tried some of those new BBQ strips from KFC today. They were ok, but kind of small. Not as good as I had hoped. I brought some more of chicken home with me to chop up and use with rice.

I have been sleepy & tired all day. And I have developed a cough that is starting to wear me out. Terry wanted me to go out with him tonight, but I was just too pooped. I just sat at home & watched TV.

SUNDAY - June 3, 2001

8:58a - I can’t believe how cool it has been here lately! Today’s high is 68. It’s just strange, for crying out loud! Actually, it feels pretty good. I should not complain. Its cloudy out this morning.

Someone has discarded a sofa, love seat and chair out by the dipsy dumpster. What a shame.... they look to be in good shape. Too bad I can’t carry them up the stairs.

Marty took me to Wal-Mart this afternoon. We went to one of those “Super Centers” where they sell food. The prices are SO much better out there. I still managed to spend a little over $150.00, but I bought everything from corn to a new battery pack for my cordless phone.

I has been rainy all day, but fortunately, it did not rain on the way BACK from Wal-Mart. (Since Marty has a pickup and everything was in the back).

I came home and chopped up a head of cabbage into 4 quart zip lock bags, and chopped some scallions, bell pepper and regular onions which I made into a mixture filling 2 more quart bags.

MONDAY - June 4, 2001

7:41a - It is pouring down cats & dogs out there this morning! And thundering & lightening... scaring poor Kira.

Terry came down for lunch with me today. I took some pictures of him and his new blond hair. Otherwise, the day was relatively uneventful.

Terry with blond hair

TUESDAY - June 5, 2001

7:37a - Its bright and sunny outside this morning. Nice change after days of rain. I hope it is nice this weekend for our trip to Six Flags!

Nothing noteworthy happened today. Had to turn on the A/C when I got home, it was so hot. Made a chicken gumbo for supper. My Aunt Marlene called regarding the property situation. I could barely understand her, her voice was so high and squeaky. She had a chemical burn and inhaled some fumes (about 3 weeks ago). Sounds bad. She told me that Uncle Sheno (Rosando Muñoz) had a stroke and can no longer work. My cousin, Nico, is moving down south (Texas) to stay with him. Uncle Sheno is in his late 50’s now.

WEDNESDAY - June 6, 2001

7:58a - Its back to the overcast, rainy stormy thing outside. This will be a long day I think; I have to work until 10:00p ... and again on Friday.

I got Marlene’s Deed signed and notarized. It is in the mail. I also signed the paperwork with Fry-Wagner for my move on the 15th.

Talked to Skip (brother). He and Jennifer are moving back to Deltona. They have a place lined up near Ft. Smith and Providence.

I got my CD Key Index organized, printed and put on my CD organizer. This has been one of my goals for several months now.

Work went well tonight. Nothing really happened except for on voice mail from Dr. Hightower.

THURSDAY - June 7, 2001

Buck says "OH!"

8:00a - It looks sunny out there now.

Buck (a friend) came over last night. We we down to Nik’s and had some drinks. Jack joined us. I was buying. I brought Kira down with us and we sat at a table outside and had some drinks. I ended up not getting to bed until after 3am!! ... and I have to work till 10p tomorrow. I am going to hate me.

FRIDAY - June 8, 2001
One Week until I Move!!

Today was a struggle as I expected. I had to walk all over the place on floor calls. I had to go to Barnes, Jewish, Childrens and CSRB. You can’t imagine how big this hospital complex is until you have to walk it several times. And of course, the elevators are still out in my building and I work on the top floor.

I finished book #2 of the Harry Potter series today, but before doing so I bought book #3. It is a hard cover. It may be the first hard cover book (other than school books) that I have ever purchased.

I worked till 10pm tonight. I took the time to print out my on-line diary from last June until current. I am going to send it all to Stephanie in Deltona. She might like to see what all has happened to me in the past year.

SATURDAY - June 9, 2001
*** My ONE YEAR anniversary in St. Louis ***

9:54a - I got a good night’s sleep last night... I really needed it. I wanted to be fresh for my venture to Six Flags today. Well, guess what. I got the day wrong! It’s tomorrow! So now I don’t know what I am going to do with myself today.

Jack and I walked down to The Loop to the open air market. I bough a bag of mushrooms and another bag of portabella mushrooms. Also 3 bunches of very large scallions. I brought them home, chopped them up and put them in the freezer.

I talked to Skip on-line for a bit today. Seems that he and Jen are moving back to Deltona the same weekend I am moving to Gentry’s! Interesting coincidence.

I ended up going over to see Terry, then we went out for some drinks. I got WAY to drunk. I did NOT want that to happen.

Oh! And when I went over to Terry’s today, I stopped on the 14th floor to find room #4117... my new apartment. It was NOT the corner apartment! Terry got the number wrong. Now I don’t know which apartment it is!! We think it might be room 4110, but I am just guessing. I have already told the moving people to move everything to room 4117 though! This could be disastrous.

SUNDAY - June 10, 2001

8:54a - I don’t feel to good this morning. Darn. I am going to Six Flags today and I have a hangover! They better not put me in a front car of a roller coaster! Marty is supposed to be here around 10am. It’s almost 9am now, so I had better hurry. (and there are only 5 days left until I move!)

Six Flags was fun. I was exhausted by the end of the day and sunburned, but it was fun. I rode “The Screaming Eagle,” a roller coaster ride, but it wasn’t much fun. It was too rough. My back was getting jammed at the bottom of every dip.

At Six Flags over St. Louis

On the way home we drove through a park, or game preserve and say some moose, and elk and deer. I took lots of pictures today, but had no room left on my camera by the time we went to the park. Marty’s camera holds a lot more than mine does, so I took some pictures of the animals using his camera.

I needed to do laundry tonight, but was too tired. I will have to go to work with a pullover shirt and no tie tomorrow.

MONDAY - June 11, 2001

8:13a - This is my last Monday here on Pershing! It looks like a beautiful day out his morning.

The day went sour on me. Terry emailed me and says that now the current tenants of the apartment we are supposed to be moving into have decided to remain there until the end of the month. The apartment will not be ready until July 4th! I am so mad...! I already contracted with the movers to be here this Friday. Now I don’t know what is going on. And Jack has made plans for Randy to come up from Florida for a visit; now I may have to cover the cost of him staying in a hotel. And of course, I will have to pay Jack for the remainder of the rent for this month. I am so disgusted.

I began reading Harry Potter book #3 today.

TUESDAY - June 12, 2001

I am still disgusted. I called the movers today. They did not say anything about additional cost.... yet. But I am still expecting it.

WEDNESDAY - June 13, 2001

I did not feel well this morning and went in about an hour late to work. However, I worked thru lunch, so I only need to make up a half hour. Speaking of lunch, I had “White Castles” for lunch for the first time today. For those of you who don’t know, White Castles are little tiny hamburgers. In Florida they would be equivalent to “Krystals.”

Jack went on one of his tirades when I got home this evening. This was more fallout from Terry’s screw up in not getting written verification about our move. I don’t blame him for being upset at me, but he can’t me more upset than I am! I am just as guilty of screwing up by not pressing Terry for written documentation as Terry is. I have been stupid, but I will not continue to be so (I hope).

THURSDAY - June 14, 2001

8:01a - I feel better this morning. I feel better this morning, except that I had bad dreams all night. I dreamt many things. In one dream, there was a canal and I was trying to scoop out fish with a net. I managed to snag and pull out a catfish about 2 feet long. Then I took a tube of cardboard and stuck in in the water and started calling out. I am not sure what I said, but I was calling something in the water. I kept seeing *something* in the water move toward me... or shift, like it was trying to watch me. Then I found myself walking down a road returning to somewhere. I encounter someone walking toward me. I think is was a woman; and we spoke. She mentioned something about “The Reapold” ... I had no idea what she was talking about. Then I arrive (somewhere) and found Becky (with whom I work), and she was very concerned. She asked me, “so, is it loose?”
“Is what loose?” I asked.

She got secretive and so I said I had run into (the woman) and she had mentioned “The Reapold.” Becky looked very worried and said, “so, it is loose. Well, I had better get down there,” and she left. I still have no idea what the Reapold is, but I think it came out of the canal. Weird.

The dream went one and I stayed at this place (a house maybe). It got dark out and there was something about a cat that looks like it was part possum. I had to chase it off of a back porch and the dogs (including Chad’s Trixie and my Kira) started trying to chase it. They wanted to run off the porch, but now I was getting scared that the Reapold was going to show up (like I knew what it was).

This was just some snippets ... the dreams went on like this all night!

8:13a - I am running behind schedule again. Must take Kira for her walk. The temperature has been around 91 for the last few days. Look like it will be about the same today.

Oh... I am taking off work tomorrow. Of course, I was SUPPOSED to be on vacation for packing purposes today.

This has turned out to be the worst day since I moved to St. Louis! I learned this morning that the receipt that Terry gave me (in the amount of $800.00) for our first months rent, was stolen from the receipt book and forged! He has been conning me the entire time! I am devastated. I thought he was my friend, but he is yet ANOTHER user. Now I am out of $640.00 that I have paid him which was about half of my moving money that I so carefully saved. I seriously doubt that I will ever see a penny of it from him, but wrote his father a letter telling him what happened. If he is a man of any honor, he do what he can to make Terry do that right thing. But I am afraid I have been hornswoggled yet again. I must be the most naive and gullible person in the world to keep falling for these things :( ... well... at least I found out before moving in with him. Who knows what could have happened to me if I was living with a person who would do something so vile, criminal and dishonorable against me?

So.... I lost a friend, a place to live, and over six hundred dollars all in one stroke.

I also got an e-mail from Jack which was forwarding Randy’s e-mail to him. I stated that his paperwork was approved for his vacation time and he would be visiting in July as planned. So that means *I* have to be out of here by then!

I already have paperwork started on my own place. I am afraid I may have problems with my credit history, but hopefully I can get around that.

FRIDAY - June 15, 2001

8:05a - I don’t have to work today, but I do have to go get some paperwork from the office. The form to take to the place where I am trying to get the apartment. I hope it works out. I don’t want to have to go through a lot of hassle trying to find a place.

I put down a $200 deposit on a room today. I should know by Tuesday if I am approved. I am so worried about my credit check. It is ironic that the tragedy of losing my home of 12 years could also keep me from getting a new place to live. But at least I know what is going on now. I have receipts for everything and am dealing with the management myself It was stupid of me to let Terry handled everything before.

Oh! Jack had a fainting spell! He went over to his friends, Melanie and Bill, where he had a few beers (only six, to be exact) and some conversation. They were going to give him a ride home, but as they were walking out to the car, Jack started to feel really bad. He put his hands on the car and leaned his head into them to rest a moment and the next thing he knew he was staring up at his friends from the ground. He had just keeled over! Later they told us that after he revived and they tried to get him in the car that he fainted again. Six beers is not enough to put a person in that condition. We think that the problem was the only snack that was available... which was gummy worms. He ate a lot of them and may have a case of sugar shock (with the alcohol and sugar combined). Anyway, he is sporting a scratch and bruised fact today and is terribly bummed out by the experience.

Jack and I had lunch downstairs and Classical Coffees and then I went to Chase Park Plaza and watch a movie. “Laura Croft: Tomb Raider” ... it was okay. Full of action, special effect and good visual effects. But it wasn’t that great

I walked to Straub’s after the movie and picked up some things, including a whole chicken breast. I baked the chicken for supper with lime slices, scallions, bell pepper, and seasonings. I was quite good!

SATURDAY - June 16, 2001

8:21a - I got to bed fairly early last night, but I did sleep well. I think I am trying to come down with something. I keep getting that “sick” feeling. I hope not. My medical doesn’t kick in until the first of next month.

I plan on doing laundry, and more house work today. We will see how I do!

I got the laundry done. Three loads in fact! However, I did not get to the mopping of the floors or any other housework that I wanted to do, but the laundry was a major task.

There was an accident in front of the house yesterday. A small gold Jeep apparently hit a city bus head on. I don’t know who was at fault, but I can tell you the bus won! The driver of the Jeep seemed to be ok, though a bit shaken up. I took some pictures and told him I would give him my e-mail address and would send him copies. However, when I went back inside to get a card with my info on it and came back out, he was on the other side of the street laying in the grass. The fire trucks and police had arrived by this time and the paramedics were attending him. They ended up carrying him off in a stretch to an ambulance and away. I guess he must have started going into shock. Or, maybe the shock was wearing off and he was starting to feel some injuries.

We to another movie today and watched “Evolution.” It was very entertaining. I liked it better than the Tomb Raider movie I watched yesterday. It had a more interesting story line.

I went by the bar after the movie and had a few drinks then went home. I put a big chuck roast on in the crock pot before going to bed.

SUNDAY - June 17, 2001

8:57a - I put some rice on using broth from the roast this morning. MMmmm it smell good in here!

9:11a - I am having chuck roast for breakfast... with Jasmine rice.

I was so industrious today! I bleached and waxed the kitchen the floor, I vacuumed (and fixed the vac... it was clogged really bad). I washed the dishes and even wiped down the wall with bleach.

Went to Talayna’s for a few beers this evening and had a plate of French fries. Josh was working. Strangely, my bill only came to $2.57 after about 7 beers and the fries. But then, when I tip of 200% I guess the math works out <wink>.

MONDAY - June 18, 2001

I started the day off great. I got up early and fixed a bite to eat before leaving for work, but at work it started to get bad. My jaw, which has been sore and has a knot on it, started to hurt REAL bad. I went to lunch and could barely eat my food. Every time I put food in my mouth my jaw will cramp up with excruciating pain. I came back to the office and had one of our doctors evaluate it. He says he thinks its the parotid salivary duct that is blocked. I looked for information on the Internet and the symptoms fit perfectly with, “Recurrent acute or chronic parotid swelling with evidence of obstructions.”

I called Gentry’s Landing to see if they had made a decision yet on my approval, but Sonja say’s they are still working on it. They will call me tomorrow. Of course, that’s what the told me before, but I was over anxious and hoped maybe they had made an early decision.

I found out that “Fred” ... the owner of the Loading Zone, my local “watering hole,” died on Saturday. I stopped by the Zone on the way home and it was about 3 times as crowded there as normal (and a black wreath was on the door). Jason is going to be a pall bearer.

TUESDAY - June 19, 2001

8:36 - I am really behind schedule this morning. I did not sleep well at all. I am in pain... I have called in sick.

I thought I would go in later, but I took a picture of my self and when I saw it decided I was sicker than I thought. I decided to stay home all day. I feel guilty, as usual.

I spoke to the management at Gentry’s around 2:30p and again just before 5:00p. They still do not have an answer for me, but said they would let me know something tomorrow. I don’t have a good feeling about it. I hope I get this apartment; I really don’t want to move into the house on Waterman. But, we will see what happens.

WEDNESDAY - June 20, 2001

8:49a - I feel horrible today. I’ve called in sick again.

The swelling in my face has gone down a lot. My face is almost back to normal, but it still feels bruised.

I called Gentry’s at 5:00p and they STILL have not been able to tell me yes or no as to if I am approved or not. I spoke with Julia and she seemed to indicate that they were a little concerned since I have the foreclosure and all... but she seen to hint that they were going to approve me. She said she still needed to talk to my landlord and since that is Jack, I put him on the line with her. They hung up, so I don’t know what went on there... I must get a definite answer tomorrow. I have to let the moving people know something.

I took a couple of Tylenol PM before going to bed tonight. I want to get a solid night’s sleep.

THURSDAY - June 21, 2001
Happy Litha!

7:24a - I feel so much better today! The Tylenol helped me get a good night’s rest too. I already have a cup of coffee made (and cleaned the kitchen AGAIN. I cleaned the kitchen last night and I get up this morning and the sink has dishes in it again and food & crumbs are splattered on the cabinet... it only takes a moment to clean).

Oh! The day got even better still! I WAS APPROVED FOR THE APARTMENT! YAY! I am so glad. Now I have to get the movers rescheduled. I called Ron Drago, but he was not in his office, so I left a message. I will try again tomorrow.

I wanted to celebrate tonight, but there was not much to do or anyone to do it with. I went to Talayna’s and had some beers. I took my book along to read, but Nathaniel was there and I ended up talking instead of reading.... which was fine.

FRIDAY - June 22, 2001

8:15a - I had a little too much beer last night... and I don’t feel quite as good as I did yesterday! I don’t have a hangover, just that icky feeling. Well, its Friday at last! (what I am I saying? I’ve only worked 2 days this week!)

This has been a long day. I just wanted to go home from work the entire day. Well... we all have lots of days like that... but his one was more notable than most.

I got everything organized for the move. I scheduled with the movers to be here on July 5th between 8 and 9:00am. I scheduled with Gentry’s Landing for use of the freight elevator between 10:00am and 2:00pm. I also scheduled to take vacation time on July 3rd, 5th and 6th (the 4th is a holiday, of course). So next week is going to be really rough for me because Lisa Z. is also moving and she is taking off the entire week! I will be basically alone at the Help Desk except for Debie. Then the next week will be my turn. But I am not taking Monday off and everyone has a holiday that week. However... we still do not know who is working on the 4th. I would... I could use the Holiday pay... but I have to be doing some serious packing that day!

I got a letter typed up for Stephanie and Putter today. I have printed out my diary entries from last June until this morning for them. I also printed out some pictures both in the letter and nine more on an extra page.

I thought about going out tonight, but I really should not. Tomorrow is the annual PrideFest picnic and it should be very festive. I don’t want to be tired or have even a little hangover. I ended up fixing some mashed potatoes with some Chinese sausage, but I was so tired I ended up just eating out of the same bowl I fixed them in and then I went to bed.

SATURDAY - June 23, 2001
St. Louis PrideFest 2001 - Day 1

Pridefest 2001 - Day 1 Marty puts up a small tent The Band Stand ... waiting for Joan Jet and the Black Hearts to appear The colorful Gazebo JR and Marty volunteer for security detail every year

7:34a - I slept well last night and am feeling great today. I need to coordinate with Marty on going to the picnic now... I plan on taking Kira. Speaking of Kira, she is pacing... wants to go out. So, like almost every morning, I shall upload my new diary entries an take K dog out for a walk. (I wonder how often this gets read by anyone?).

8:33a - Marty called me and said that him and JR need to be at the park to sign in by 9:00am... I haven’t even showered yet!

I go my shower, shaved, shampooed, blow dry and dressed in time to be picked up my by Marty before 9am. We pulled out from here at 8:56a.... they are sure to be late.

I got my first beer at 11:35; got a combo plate at the Filipino food stand with the most delicious pork-kabobs. I had maybe about 6 or 7 glasses of beer throughout the day and some chips & salsa from the Gallardo stand. Bevo Mill had a stand and toward the end of the day the girl working there tried to sell me a beef-kabob but at $4.00 each I decline... so she offered my 2 for the price of one and I took her up on it.

I ran into Ed Sebastian around noon. He walked around together for a while.

I was going to take Kira with me, but at the last minute I decided against it. I did not know until after we got there that Marty & JR were going to be working volunteer security until 9:00pm. I wish I had brought here along. EVERYbody had their dog there to day. Well... we are going back tomorrow. I will take here this time!

At about 4:15 I went up to the stage where Joan Jett and the Black Hearts were to be performing. I was right up front by a big speaker. I wanted to get a couple of good pictures, but before Joan came out (as usual) they told us NO PICTURES. I watched about 2 songs and by that time I was getting too tired to continue standing there, and the speaker was wearing out my poor ears! I did get a picture of Joan Jett’s Limo as it was arriving and some pictures of other performers on the stage.

I did not get home until somewhere between 9:30 and 10:00p. I took Kira outside immediately. I was worried about her. I have a little sunburn, but it should tan okay. So I got home, took my vitamins, drank a bunch of filtered ice water, took a nice long and hot shower, then went to bed... I was pooped.

SUNDAY - June 24, 2001
St. Louis PrideFest 2001 - Day 2

7:34a - I was up early this morning. I am making a pot of rice for all of us to take to the festival today. I don’t think Mary has ever tasted my cooking....

7:35a - And I AM taking K-dog with me today!

My rice did not get eaten... too bad. I made a double portion to make sure there was enough fop everyone.

Kira had a good time. She really got pooped out though. I bet she will sleep well tonight.

So ... I watched the parade, drank some beers, did some dancing, took lots of pictures, ran into several acquaintances, including Ed, Charlie, Anna (from work), and of course Jack and Adam were there. Jack, Adam and Josh and I (and Kira) all went to Mei Kong (Vietnamese restaurant) where we ate outdoors. I had some tasty pork dish which included pineapple chunks (on the side) and a boiled egg.

Yesterday I wore a tank top and got a sun line that makes me look like I have a bra on. Today I wore an open front shirt so I can possibly even out the tanning process a little.

I got eaten up by mosquitos too. I am going to be suffering from them for a while I bet.

I had such a bad headache by the time I got home; oh, Josh gave me a ride home. I went right to bed. Kira and I both conked out, but I kept getting up to get water. My headache was a combination of too much beer, too much sun, too much dancing and the dehydration that resulted from it all. I may have lost a few more pounds though! I didn’t eat anything all day except for 2 small helpings of my rice.

MONDAY - June 25, 2001

7:32a - I am itching like CRAZY this morning. Those mosquitoes did a number on me. I am miserable!

Lisa is moving this weekend and will be out all week. Its going to be a rough week. We will be switching positions next week when I move. However, I am not taking Monday off and Wednesday is a holiday anyway.

Kira slept like a log last night and did not want to move when she had to get up! She had a good time though I think.

Day one with Lisa out was busy, but fortunately nothing major happened. With luck it will stay that way all week!

OH! My cell phone arrived! I had ordered one off the Internet and it arrived. It is already on and I have a number

Received a letter from my tia Marlene today. She asks me to try to get Skip to hurry with the form he needs to sign, notarize and return to her.

Went by the Chinese place for supper tonight. I order a half order of Chicken Cashew and they gave me two full orders! Or rather, sold me two orders (I paid for them). I thought it was a bit high, but did not realize it until I got home. Very irritating. Oh, well... lunch for tomorrow!

TUESDAY - June 26, 2001

7:39am - I got up at 6:00a this morning. I have been answering emails and such.

We’ve started to move things around at the office. They will begin construction soon and will will be temporarily located on the other side of the building.

I may have made a big mistake tonight... I hope not. I received an offer for a vacation in Florida at a 75% rate reduction. It’s worth (they say) about $25,000 and includes a several days and nights in Key West, Orlando, and New Smyrna Beach; a 7 day car rental; and a cruise to the Bahamas. The trip is for two, but I can take another couple with me. I can take the cruise anytime in the next year and I have a tentative date scheduled for March 31, 2002. However... the catch is, I had to put down $299 to retain the offer. This is a bad time for me to be doing that since I just got ripped off for $640 by Terry and I have and expensive move coming up this week. I am biting my nails on this one... hope I didn’t throw money away stupidly, but on the other had, if a person doesn’t go out and enjoy life and take risks... what is the point of it all?

Jack and I went to Talayna’s tonight. It was a pleasant evening out.

WEDNESDAY - June 27, 2001

8:09a - Looks like a nice day out this morning. I am on my last week living here now. I I have a letter for Chad that I prepared yesterday and will send out today.

I got the package out to Chad today.... and today was VERY busy! I was constantly doing about 3 or 4 things simultaneously. I was so glad to get home.

I have been worry about the wisdom of this vacation package. I feel like I am falling for something that is just going to cost me a lot of money and end up being a complete loss. I wonder if I can cancel out of it? If so... I had better do so quickly.

I found a TV stand at the dipsy dumpster tonight. Gads ... most of my furniture is going to end up coming out of the trash at DeBalivier Place!

THURSDAY - June 28, 2001

7:29a - I wonder how much of a mess the office is going to be this morning? The Help Desk will be moving to the other side of the building soon. I hope they do this before I go on vacation next week.

It was a mess! I need to pack up stuff on my desk tomorrow.

I canceled that vacation package today... I feel better now. I knew I was doing the wrong thing and I feel good that I have corrected it.

I made my first long distance call on my cell phone today. I called ‘lisa in California while walking from the office after work.

Speaking of work... it was another high pressure day. I received my first ClinDesk call from Barnes IS. I decided I deserved a drink after work an went down to the Zone. I got to talking with a couple there; Jeremy and Kate. Well, Jeremy had to leave for a while and Kate was left there so I kept her company ... and the two of us proceeded to get smashed! I did not intend to drink THAT much! I barely remember going home an cook, and walking Kira and so forth.

FRIDAY - June 29, 2001

7:41a - This is my last Friday living here (at least it had better be!). Today is also payday.

Fortunately, I don’t feel as bad today as I thought I would. I was so drunk last night! I hope I didn’t make TOO much of a fool of myself.....

I am going to wear my new shirt that I received from the office for the first time today. It has the MIR logo on it.

This was such a long day. I picked up my quarterly pass for the bus & train this morning, They started putting up the wall supports for the new offices they’re building. I took some pictures of the mess.

I went to the book store at lunch and bought the Harry Potter #4 book. It is a thick one (746 pages). I also picked up a book in Wicca. I’ve been interested in learning more about the formal practice here lately.

Went by Talayna’s and had some beer & wings (again). Josh (bar tender) had called in sick, so they were under pressure there tonight.

Lisa Z. called me at work. She has a sofa, love seat and a mattress that she is going to give me, but we are having trouble figuring how I am going to get it to my new place. We finally decided to leave it at her old place and my director, Laura, is going to try to borrow her father’s truck. We will get them on Saturday after I move. I hope this all works.

SATURDAY - June 30, 2001

8:06a - The kitchen is a mess this morning. I’ve got to clean it up ... not that I messed it up, but I hate the mess. I have coffee on... now I need to take Kira out.

I watch the movie I have been waiting to see today, “A.I.” (by Steven Spielberg). I was a good movie, as I expected. But the end was so far from what I expected. In fact, I thought the movie was ending twice before it got to the true end.

I went to the store after the movie and picked up a few things. When I came out, it was sprinkling. I went to the bus stop and sat down at 4:05. The rain started to pick up and before I knew it I was sitting there in the middle of a raging storm with thunder & lightening. The bus is supposed to run every 30 minutes, but I sat there for 45 minutes before the bus finally arrived. By then the storm had nearly subsided. I was in a shelter, but I got a little wet. Actually, it was almost pleasant sitting there while nature had a tantrum around me.

I found some dishes in the dumpster tonight. Plates, saucers, bowls, a butter dish and a sugar bowl. There was also a chest o’ drawers out there, but it is too heavy for me to get up the stairs. I also picked up some plants that were discarded. I will try to nurture them back to health.

I was tired tonight. Its Saturday, but I had no energy. I just went to be around 8:30p (it was still light out).

.... and thus ends June of the two thousand and first year, A.D. ...
