JUNE 2006

THURSDAY - JUNE 1, 2006

Happy Birthday to Odo!
Actor René Auberjonois

11:14a – I am just out of bed and not looking forward to going to work at all. My back is hurting me. I work up in the middle of the night and it felt like I had pulled a muscle or something. Or maybe its my kidneys, I don't know, but it's painful. Just what I need... jeez. I hate aging.

I kept my AHT under 600s up until about 10:00p tonight. Then I got some long calls and it climbed up to over 700s. Very annoying.

FRIDAY - JUNE 2, 2006

1:41a – My back is still hurting. A lot. The only thing I can think of is that I lifted Kira for her bath on Wednesday. Maybe I strained myself. I didn't think I did.

12:21p – I just made a payment on the car. It's down to $563. Almost paid off!

I attended my first Ko-Ro today! I drove to LaDue and met some of my samideanoj at the "Wild Oats" self-serve restaurant.

Scenes from my first KoRo in LaDue, MO

SATURDAY - JUNE 3, 2006

12:23p – Time to go to work again. I did not get enough sleep and at the moment, that's all I  feel like doing.

Typical day of work. Nothing outstanding to report.

SUNDAY - JUNE 4, 2006

2:32a – I am not much into the computer tonight. I am having some beers and watching my video recordings from Friday night. Star Gate was one I had already seen, which is ironic, since I have not seen a new episode in quite some time. I am watching Dr. Who now. I've not seen this one. Meanwhile, Skip left a sausage & rice concoction for me for supper. It's pretty tasty, so I have it warming up.

2:56a – It's very unlike me, but it's nearly 3am and I am just now checking email.

11:32a – I am up and showered, but not exactly awake. I need more sleep!

My AHT at the end of today was 11m:5s. Not too bad.

MONDAY - JUNE 5, 2006

1:12a – Home again. Go to work, come home, go to work... etc. I am in a comfortably boring rut again.

4:27a – Off to bed.

My cool creation for the date of 666 (or 060606)

The Bank of America in Belleville TUESDAY - I had today off. Skip came home early (his back was bothering him). Around 3:00p I took Skip to Belleville so he cold deposit some rolled coins. He had miscounted and had more than he thought he did. We drove back to Cahokia to Valvoline where Skip decided to pay to have my oil changed (I am a little past due for that). I pulled into the lot at Valvoline and there was a big commercial van that was trying to manipulate its way into one of the bays. They waved me back out of the way, and I had no problem with that. I backed into a parking spot and waiting. (And waited). And then a car pulled in and zipped right into the far right bay (which I did not realize was open)! I thought they would wave me IN! Then ANOTHER car pulls in right up the bay in front of me.

There are no signs saying how to approach the bays or to get in queue, so I had no clue what to do... but I was not happy. I walked up to the attendant and told him that they had waved me back so this huge van could pull in and now people have pulled in front of me. He said there would be no problem and he would get me in first. I pointed out that the car behind him came in AFTER me and was already being serviced... (were they going to send them away? ...of course not!). They did have the other car back up and had me pull in front of him. They were probably displeased with me, but I don't care. It took me an hour or more just to get the oil changed!

On a more positive note, one of the men on duty determined the the LEAK that is causing the smoke in my car is from the power steering fluid, not the oil. The oil leak is really very minor. I went next door to "Al's" to see if they had a replacement part, but the had to have it sent over from their store in Fairview Heights. So I left Valvoline and went to pick up Skip who had walked over to Subway for lunch. Then I drove to AutoZone and was able to pick up a dip-stick/lid for the power steering reservoir for about $3. I hope it does the trick! Especially since power steering fluid is more combustible than the oil!

WEDNESDAY - JUNE 7, 2006

Another boring day. I got up late at 11:30a and left a bit late for work. I did not get logged in until nearly 2:00p and I was supposed to start at 1:30p. My computer messed up on me to, so that threw me off a bit. My AHT for the day was not very good, but I just didn't feel like caring about it tonight. I made a lot of callers feel good and actually helped some of them. My scores were not that great, but my results were good.

THURSDAY - JUNE 8, 2006

3:59a – I have spent the wee morning hours catching up email and my journal. My supper has cooked up in the rice cooker. Time to go eat and crash.

11:37a – I just checked the weather forecast, and all three days that I have planned off, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, are all scheduled for storms! That's just not right.

FRIDAY - JUNE 9, 2006

I sat around and did basically nothing but browse email and relax today. James call and we chatted for a while. I was going to get up and go DO something, but was just too damn lazy. Skip came home early. Today was Wash U's Employee Day (which of course I no longer attend). I finally cleaned up and went to Wal-Mart and did some shopping for some things I needed, including Kira's dog food. I meant to get her a bag of treats, but completely forgot. For supper, we just ordered a pizza for a change. I think Kira managed to sneak one of Skip's slices out of the box when no one was looking!

SATURDAY - JUNE 10, 2006

An item for sale in the gift shop After our tour, we got an icecream waffle cone here. I got pistacio and strawberry-cheese cake! Lee & Skip - The Lewis Brothers ... deep in the heart of Missourit (in Meramec Caverns) Scenes using available lighting from the Meramec Caverns

This was a fantastic day. I really enjoyed myself. I did not get up until about 11:30a, but we got out of the house and took a trip to Meramec Caverns. It was a long drive. Much further than expected. I think it was about 70 miles one way. The caverns were awesome and the tour well conducted and entertaining. I of course was entertaining myself with my camera. I had gone back to the car and brought my tripod with me. I am glad I did. The resulting photos are much better for having the tripod. I took lots of photos around the gift shop, which was better than most such shops in my opinion. Then I took a few shots out by the river. Skip meanwhile had vanished and I found him "panning for gems" in the little tourist-trap set up for that purpose. He actually got quite a few interesting stones from the lot.

We finally head home and I made a wrong turn and ended up pulling into the parking lot of a "Fireworks Store." Earlier in the day, Skip had commented that he wanted to go in there, but we were too tired and not thinking about it on the way home. However, since I found myself accidentally in their parking lot, I figures the gods must have directed us there! So... we went in and Skip went mad with shopping for things that blow up. He spent about $40 on a lot of stuff, and then we left.

Skip on a shopping spree ifor fireworks in Stanton, MO

The drive home was uneventful, but long. The car did well. I had to fill it up at the gas station just outside of Six Flags. I put $43 of premium in the tank this time, plus some good quality fuel injector cleaner. (It was time for the car to have a treat too!).

SUNDAY - JUNE 11, 2006

6:34p – As usual, I got up around 11:30a. After going the email, Skip and I decided to go to Taco Bell. I was famished! Well, guess what? Taco Bell was closed! PERMANENTLY! They had the worst service in town, but at least it was Mexican food nearby. Skip and I both are partial to Mexican foods. Anyway, we went over to Subway instead and each got a foot long with double meat & cheese.

After Subway, we went to Wal-Mart and Skip bought a new bookshelf he had been wanting.

11:38p – I have been busy updating Marty's web page for him tonight. It was hard to get him to realize what information I needed, but once I finally to my questions understood, we got the page fixed. I had to create some new graphics though.

MONDAY - JUNE 12, 2006

1:59a – I made a pretty good supper from leftovers... but now it's time to crash!

2:56a – Ricky is here... Iiw' ide che yenge....

Back to work today. I was more focused and got a lot of calls taken.

TUESDAY - JUNE 13, 2006

4:36a – Off to bed ... very late...

11:29a – I got up at 11:10a. I had been having wild dreams about spending time with these baby elephants. I had my camera with me (of course). At one point I caught one of the baby elephants sleeping in a laundry basket in a closet!

In another dream, I was with 'lisa, Darlene and Skip for some kind of ceremony. Maybe it was a wedding, but I don't know who was getting married. I was taking pictures of course. Then I ended up dancing with 'lisa and the dance floor cleared for us. However, during the entire dance, there seemed to be some kind of conflict going on between me and her. We were smiling and putting on a good front, but there are an underlying argument. I'm not sure what that could mean.

Work went about "as normal." I took about 44 calls total. My AHT could be lower. Oh... the power went out at work for about an hour ... right during my lunch break. The phones and computer did not fail unfortunately, but the microwaves did, so my lunch was cold and the vending machines were out. And the TV... so lunch was in a half-lit room with cold food and nothing to watch.

WEDNESDAY - JUNE 14, 2006

2:11p – I got up around 11:00a. I've been going through a ton of email all morning, while simmering some beef on the stove. It finally turned into a beef stew. I am going to eat now. I have the day of... I need to think of something to DO.

Two police cas in front of our neighbor's...

4:34p – I have lounged around and done nothing all day. I did finally take a shower. Skip called a bit ago and asked for a ride from the train. That will be my "outing" for the day I suppose. But tomorrow will be different. I have to go to 3 doctor's appointments!

As I was leaving to go get Skip this afternoon, I noticed 2 police cars sitting in front of our new neighbor's house. I had no idea what they might be there for, nor did I see any officers as I was leaving.

I did take a photo of the cars just for my own records. It turned out that they had called the police because their new puppy (the one that has been keeping me awake) was sick, and foaming at the mouth. I think it is okay at the moment.

11:26p – Off to bed now. Very early for me! But... I have things to do tomorrow, so I need to get my sleep.

THURSDAY - JUNE 15, 2006

I had trouble getting out of bed and getting motivated today. I have three doctor's appointment scheduled for today. The first one was a follow-up with Dr. Parks, but I called in and cancelled that one. The next one was for 2:00p for a Carotid Imaging, and then at 3:00p an Echo Cardiogram. I really just wanted to stay in bed, but... I need to get these things done. I left the house a little later than I wanted, even though I rushed and just did a "rinse off" in the shower with no soap or shampoo, and no shave. I needed to be to my 2:00p appointment at 1:30p to complete the processing. Of course, that damn train caught me AGAIN on Camp Jackson Road (every time I have a frelling appointment!). Then there was the construction being done on the Popular Street Bridge. I needed to take exit 38A to Grand, but it was blocked off for construction too! I had to go to Boyle to exit and try to find my way back to Grand. Well... THAT was a fiasco. I drove around for about 30 minutes trying to find a way BACK to Grand with no success. I was getting more than a little upset. It was already about 1:40p when I called the doctor's office, spoke with "Tim" and told him that I was running late.

I finally found myself at Vanderventer & Shaw, and I knew that Shaw ran directly into Grand, so I made it to Grand, but turned right... and of course I should have gone left. I figured this out shortly and got turned around. Eventually I found the street I was looking for (Vista), found the parking lot and arrived at the Tenet Care parking lot! However, I must comment, that back at Vanderventer &  Shaw I saw this store called "The Bug Store" that had all kinds of wild things out front. I was sitting at a signal waiting for the light to change and whipped out my trusty camera for a couple of shots of this odd store front!
The very odd "Bug Store" at the corner of Vanderventer and Shaw
The Entrance to TenetCare... my destination today... I was given an electronic pager and sent to sit and wait, but my wait was not long. I checked in, got through the paperwork and me and my pager were sent back to sit again. This time I sat at one of the 3 computers provided by Dell in the lobby. I checked email and replied to one and my pager went off. So... off I went for my Carotid Imaging session. It was fairly uneventful. Lots of KY jelly and a woman rubbing a ultrasound device up & down my neck in a dark room. (Sounds more fun than it really was...).
From there I went right on to my next appointment for the Echo Cardiogram. This took a lot longer and was much more involved. I got to see the ultrasound of my heart and it was amazingly clear. I could see all for chambers, auricles, ventricles, valves and all. It was really quite fascinating in a creepy sort of way. Creepy only because it was it was my own heart, real time. During this session, I had to have an outpatient IV so that I could be dosed with "agitated saline" and another solution which bounced ultra sounds waves back. After that last one was injected, I could see the blood flowing through my heart. This is a very blurry and indistinct shot of my heart on the monitor...

That was wild. I had my camera with me and was able to get one shot of my heart on the monitor, but it is very blurry and you can't tell much.

Skip set off a bunch of his fireworks again tonight. And a policeman drove by and caught him. He explained that the fireworks could only be fired off 2 days before & after the Fourth of July. This prompted poor Kira to pee on the carpet, unfortunately.

FRIDAY - JUNE 16, 2006

I had lots of wild dreams this morning. I have noticed that my dreams seem to involved family members more and more here of late. In one dream I was with my sister, Calisa, and we were be fired upon by strafing war planes. I tried to hide us behind some kind of metal structure, possibly a freezer, and I kept think how inadequate such a defense might be. In another dream, I was in a car and Daddy was driving. It was night time (which is usually the case with his dreams, now that I think about it). We were in some rural area and he tried to drive across some field which was not meant to be driven upon. His vehicle go stuck, but he was able to back out of the mess after several attempts.

I got myself off to work a bit late, but still ran by Rally's for a couple of burgers. I ate one in the care (which I hate to do); saving the other one for break. My calls were awful today. I had 2 sup calls. Two calls had some kind of cross over and I had a terrible time trying to hear what the caller was saying. One of them I managed to complete... the other one had to call back. Then I accidentally *released* on call due to the confusion caused by the SLT constantly buzzing my phone. I still managed to get over 40 calls in... about 43 I think. I am not even worrying about it. I will just do what I can. This place really depresses me as far as providing good service.

SATURDAY - JUNE 17, 2006

3:16a – The drive home was pleasant tonight, with the windows down, the sunroof open, and my Romanian Top 20 blaring. But I got home to find the K-dog had pee'd on the carpet again. She has had way too many accidents in the last week. It's really starting to bother me. I just don't have time to clean up. I can't wet-vac the carpet at this hour since the machine will wake Skip. I can't do it in the morning, because I don't have time. Its a dilemma.

Ricky emk' uut' iith' aose yeng' uutaitne aanj' iiw' aad' ey' utg' aimte. We went down to his hangout (Buddies) and spent an hour or two, then came home and I dropped him off at his sister's.

SUNDAY - JUNE 18, 2006

4:05p – We just got back from getting our new stove about 30 minutes ago. It's going to be a lot of work to put it in place.

MONDAY - JUNE 19, 2006

I was 2 hours late for work today. I felt yucky and called in. The training classes for Adelphia began today, but I was not in the first wave.

TUESDAY - JUNE 20, 2006

12:09p – I had a strange dream this morning. I was in an old house, maybe the house we lived in back in Garwood. Skipper (age approximately 6 years old) came running into the room and he was crying and appeared to be hysterical. He tried to hide in a closet, but I got him to come out. Apparently, Mom and Dad had been killed in a car wreck and he had just found out. I picked him up and held him while he cried. I felt very protective. Then this black lady came into the room and spoke to us, but I woke up. When I woke up I wondered to myself, "Whatever happened to Skipper?" It took me several moments of trying to remember before I remembered that Skipper is now "Skip," my brother, who lives with me, and is 37 years old. I completely forgot that he had grown up! How ... odd!

The Adelphia training class are still in progress, so many of the seats were reserved. Several more seats had machines that would not load the ACSR program, so seating was at a premium. I bounced around several times trying to find a place to sit and go to work. I ended up sitting in the floor support area for the second night in a row.

One of my shortest calls at work tonight was a guy who called in and said his computer had been hijacked. It sounded like a possible virus problem, so thought I should see if he was using McAfee Antivirus. If so, I could transfer him over to McAfee where his could get more professional help. So I asked him what Antivirus software his was using. His response was, "Don't give me that crap!" ... and hung up. Some people are so ignorant. I am amazed the human race has attained this level of civilization.

Possibly my most interesting call today was from a lady who, while we were waiting for her computer to boot up, told me that she was once a question on Jeopardy. The question was something like, "Who was the first person to be voted off the Island in the reality series, 'Survivor'?" It was her of course. I forgot her name though.

I did some searching on Google and I think I found her. She is Stacey Stillman...

WEDNESDAY - JUNE 21, 2006
Litha

11:45a – I am up again and getting ready for work. I have the next two days off, thankfully. This job is really stressful. I don't know how long I can keep it up. Maybe it will reach a point where I start to flow with it.

I got a lot of calls logged today. I might have made it to 50, but my "co-workers" were being so unprofessional and noisy that I had to move to a new location in order to function.... so I probalby lost a few calls during that time.

Chuck boosted my ego tonight when he commented (in front of others) that my typing skills were "legendary." Wow... that was cool. Not sure wher that came from, but ... cool.

THURSDAY - JUNE 22, 2006
Tago de Vizitanoj

I sat around and did nothing for much of today, but then I finally got motivated and went to get my hari cut. I got it cut much shorter than I did last month and I like this cut much better. Then I went to Wal-Mart and picked up some necessities. I headed out for my KoRo meeting with EASL at about 5:30p, but there was a storm, and terrible traffic. I did not arrive until about 6:30p. We had three visitors at our meeting. Pat Higgins, from Pennsylvania, an employee of Hershey's was one guest. He spoke to us and discussed some of his life and his family.

Then we had Steven Wagenseller who was one of the actors in the "Pasporto al la Tuta Mondo," playing the part of "La Detektivo." Now I am acquainted TWO members of the cast, since I have known Guy Menachem since 1995. He must be about 28 years old now. No one knows where he vanished to though. I hope he is okay and happy... wherever he may be.

We also had Stephen Hawkes-Teeples visiting us. I have met him before at a Zamenhofa Bankedo a couple of years past. His Esperanto is excellent and he corrected some of my work on a cartoon that I brought along. Though it was a bit on the "adult" side, and he is a Jesuit Priest, so that was a bit awkward.

Peggy Dolter was there with her daughter and shared photos of her new adopted son. She discussed with me the new EASL website, which I have not had a chance to review as yet. It was good to see her again.

Pat Higgins was really cool and brought samplers of Hershey's Kissables for everyone. (Who can turn down chocolate!?).

David Fallert was there also, one of our newer members. I had promised to make him a copy of my "Gxusto de Esperanto" CD, and so after our kunveno, I let him listen to some of the CD that I had in the car with me, then I loaned him the CD to copy.

FRIDAY - JUNE 23, 2006

I got my EMMISSIONS TEST done today... and PASSED! YAY!

I also got another $300 paid on the car. I now owe only $263.00. That means only 1 or 2 more payments.

11:33p – Skip set off some fireworks tonight. I recorded it of course. I put a hen on the rotisserie to cook, but the poor thing was set to be tortured! I hope it is cooked adequately. I looks awful! But, for now, I must head back to the kitchen and fix mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn on the cob.

SATURDAY - JUNE 24, 2006

1:03a – Supper was good, but now I am off to bed...

Work was pretty good today. I took 47 calls. I was trying for 50. This is my records so far I think.

SUNDAY - JUNE 25, 2006

I got up around noon today with plans on going to the PrideFest 2006 at Tower Grove park. I did not get out until a little after 1:30p and Skip wanted me to give him a ride all over. First to Dollar Store, then to Pop Eye's, then to Q-Mart and the Hardware store. Then he wanted to run back home and get the gas can can have me fill it up so he can mow, but I refused. It was already going on 2:30 and I needed to get rolling. I dropped him off, then of course I had to fuel the car. I have putting premium in the tank, but Quick-Trip had nothing today but regular, so that's what I used.

The Grand exit was still block by continuing construction, so I ended up trying to following a sea of various detour signs. That is impossible. There are so many detours all using the same road that one cannot read all the signs (nor make sense out of most of them). I finally made my way down Shaw street. I met Iris today. He was working security with Marty & JR at the front gate, and he got me a pass to park inside the festival.

MONDAY - JUNE 26, 2006

11:27a – I got up before 11:00a this morning thinking I would have some more time to myself before getting ready for work, but Kira had an accident, leaving a solid trail from the living room to the back door, where she then pee'd. So, I spent my extra half hour scrubbing carpet & tile and mopping and bleaching (while still half asleep). This is not the way I would recommend beginning one's day.

Due to spending so much time cleaning up after Kira, I ended up calling in to work to report that I would be 1 hour late. I was supposed to start at 1:30p, but I will be in at 2:30p instead. I got to work at 2:30p as expected, and one of the first things I did was to review my schedule. I was surprised to see that it had been change and that I was going to be in classes to learn Adelphia support. I knew this was coming up, but it would have been nice to get AT LEAST a day's notice! So it turned out that I was 2 hours early AND marked down for 1 hour tardy! Of course, the tardy has been corrected, but it was still annoying.

So... we began training for Adelphia. I see by my schedule that I will have four days off this weekend (Sat-Tue) and that I only have 34 hours scheduled to work next week. That will cut into my paycheck. I have not been able to find out what is going on about that.

Skip called me at work tonight and left a message. Apparently something is wrong with the TV. Great.

I got home and looked at the connection in the back of the VCR and got one of them plugged back in. As Skip had surmised, something had pulled loose. I got at least the VCR portion working and put my StarGate tape from last Friday and caught up on my Friday night favorites.

TUESDAY - JUNE 27, 2006

Adelphia classes continue today. Day #2. At least, since I am only working 8 hour days again, I can sleep later and have time to get some email caught up. The Tsalagi group has been very busy lately (and we have a new member who is rubbing my fur the wrong way). Ernestine is teaching our classes. She just got a promotion yesterday though, so I don't think she is focusing on her job of instructing. She is really cool, but at the moment she is understandably distracted. The classes are, much like the Comcast classes, very confusing and we are unsure of where we are going so far. Besides which, there are many questions which the instructors do not know.

Apparently Time Warner and Comcast just bought out the bankrupted Adelphia. Comcast got 42% of the market. The judge signed the papers today and everything is final. Our office in Hazelwood is soon going to bed THE one and only call center for Adelphia ... and we are been thrown into it head first! We are going to be BOTH tier-1 and tier-2 support! Oh boy....

I don't have hardly any "meat" in the house, so I dug through the freezer and found an old chunk of ham and some pork steak bones with a little meat left attached and put them on to boil. I ended up making something with them with potatoes and green bean, and other ingredients. It was "edible" ... if not great.

Skip had worked on the TV, but it seems it is still not working. I had no more tapes I wanted to watch either. Oh well.

WEDNESDAY - JUNE 28, 2006

It was again nice to have more time before going to work today. I got the TV to work again. All I had to do was turn the power off to the Satellite receiver and turn it back on.

Classes continued into day #3. Tonight we were instructed by Jeremy and Jim. Jim has been here about a month or two longer than I have and Jeremy has only been here for two months. They took the in-house classes like we are taking just a week or two before us. We are teaching and passing it on, so-to-speak. They did pretty good though, and we got through a good chunk of material. I am starting to get a vague idea of how the Adelphia process works. We will have much more power over our job, no LoQ's to follow, and customer service (i.e., "quality") is given much more focus than it is by Comcast. The tools are very confusing and they use LOTS of acronyms. It's like another language. We call it "Adelphian." Once I grasp these tools however, they should be very useful.

Coming home tonight I had a bit of a scare. I was all the way to downtown St. Louis coming over the rise just before my exit to 64-E to cross the river, when I realize the traffic was at a standstill in front of me! I hit the breaks and wondered if I would skid, or if I could stop in time, or if I would have to swerve into the other lane! Whew! I was able to get stopped... just barely. However, there was traffic coming of the rise behind me. Would THEY stop in time? The first vehicle to come up behind me had to swerve into the lane to my right. There were several more near misses, including big 18-wheelers, before the line backed up to the top of the rise where people could see the break lights from a distance. I realized I was trembling... that's how bad it scared me! The time was about 12:20 to 12:30a at this time. The traffic was backed up in that lane only, because we all had to exit and cross the bridge, and of course, they are still doing construction on the Popular Street Bridge. It was 1:01a by the time I finally got onto the bridge. That was about 1 mile, maybe.

Still no food in the house. (Well, no "meat") that is. I stopped at Quick Trip and spent $6 on a frozen pizza. Something I almost NEVER do.

I got home and Chooga did not greet me at the front door. He normally does. I was getting concerned about his whereabouts. I fed Kira and put food in Chooga's dish and called him from the back door and checked the front door. He finally showed up about a half hour late. It's not like him to be late for dinner!

The pizza was filling, but kind of "store bought" tasting. And that was a "DiGiorno's Pizza." They are advertised for their "delivery pizza" quality. I don't think so.

THURSDAY - JUNE 29, 2006

12:47p – I got up at precisely noon. Kira is outside. Journal is finally caught back up to date, and now I realize that I am getting hungry!

3:01a – Training was pretty boring again tonight. I don't mind. But I am worried that I am getting the bug that has been going around. My throat is all scratchy tonight. At least 4 people in my class have come down with some bug in the last week. I better not be getting it!

FRIDAY - JUNE 30, 2006

10:35p – I got it. I woke up this morning and my throat was on fire. I did not get up until nearly 1:00p. I debated on weather or not to call in sick and finally decided it would be better for me to rest and not expose myself to more sick people, nor expose myself to the healthy people and keep spreading this crap.  So, I will miss a day of pay. That sucks, but I should be able to survive it with minimal problem.

Skip took off work early today. I went to Wal-Mart and Schnuck's. I bought mostly cat food at Wal-mart, and some minor grocery items. That was about $18 and change. Then I bought LOT of meat at Schnuck's. I have been missing meat in my larder here lately and really needed to correct that. I got some pretty good deals today. I have been waiting for the chicken leg quarters to go on sale. They have been .69¢ per pound for a long time, but I have got them on sale for .39¢ before. Today they were on sale for .29¢, so I jumped on it! I got two 10 lb bags for $2.90 each. Lean ground hamburger was only $1.89 lb., and whole pork butts were on sale for about .99¢ per pound. I got two of those, sliced.

I got all the food home and put it in zip lock bags in the freezer and I am set for a little while.

Today I have been in communication with Blair Rudes and Ruth Holes. Both well known for the linguistic clout in the Native American commnity. I am being impressed with me own self... sorry!

Anyway... time to go eat. I cooked a hen on the rotisserie tonight and I think it came out okay.
