SEPTEMBER 2002

Sunday - September 1, 2002

I took down my summer door hanger and hung out my Scare Crow on the door this morning.

Skip and I did some house work. He got the bathroom cleaner than it has been for a while.

I went to the theater and watched "Signs" today. It was much better than I expected. As soon as I stepped out of the theater, I started thinking about my evaluation again. This is really depressing me. I decided to go to the bar and have a few drinks to try to divert my thoughts. It wearing me out to keep thinking about this problem constantly. I had a few beers at LZ, then went to Talayna's for some wings. I really didn't help much.

Monday - September 2, 2002

I just lounged around eating, reading & watching TV today. I finally got all of Devon's pictures edited and ready to upload.

Kira has an awful gas problem tonight. Whew... I've never known her to have such a bad case of the farts!

Tuesday - September 3, 2002

8:30a - I finally caught up my entries this morning. Kira is exuding clouds of putrid vapor this morning. <gag> It's really bad. I am going to give her a Gas-X pill. I don't think it will hurt her.

8:33a - I dread this day. I am no longer happy with my job. Calisa has even said I could move to California with them if needed. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I spoke with my friend Dan (formerly of Talayna's). He just quit his job at the President Casino. He says they are going bankrupt and will probably shut down in a month or so.

Kira had ANOTHER accident by the elevators tonight... this time with me. I don't know what's wrong with her. This is bad time for her to be having such problems since I am going to be changing my schedule by 4 hours starting tomorrow.

11:58 - I have my September page created now. Time for supper.

Wednesday - September 4, 2002

OLD DIARY: 1999 - Chuck Welsh stopped by on his way to Daytona where he is meeting with Mark Henderson. I was supposed to join them, but I had to say at home with aim' eshpresh' ufste.

This was my first day on my new schedule. I got up around 8am... about the same time as usual. Work was hectic today, and Lisa had to leave right after I got there. ImageWeb went down, the some change was made on RENTGN which blocked any IDXTerm users out... I logged about 38 calls before the day (& evening) was over.

On the train ride home, we stopped at Busch Stadium and a million or 3 red shirts got on. I almost couldn't get off the train again! There was an uutky' aig' itsaengy' aib' iime who needed to know how to get to the Casino Queen. Y'oldt' im' aohe.

Thursday - September 5, 2002

12:21a - Just got back in after an emergency run with Kira. She was frantic to go out... even running and barking down the hallway. Either she heard something I didn't or she was faking me out. She finally "did something" after I took her out... but I think she faked it. I didn't find anything to clean up!

12:33a - I had a chat with my friend Al Elkes back in Deltona on Yahoo tonight. He says they are getting a lot of rain in FL for a change. And his dogs are doing well. I told him about Kira breaking her foot. She is still limping, but doing much better.

11:52a - I got up about 8:30 this morning. I don't feel well. I feel like I might be coming down with something. I hope not. I just had some Hot & Sour soup from the place down the street. It's helping a little I think.

12:16p - Time to get ready for work. I still feel bad. I hope I feel better tomorrow. I am taking the day off to go on the river cruise and I'm going for my haircut at noon.

Work was very busy tonight. I worked till 10pm again tonight of course.

Friday - September 6, 2002
Congratulations to Mitch & (my sister) Calisa
... it's their anniversary!!

Skip and I went over to The Safari Café for lunch. I have by it many times, but never actually been in. I got the gyro wrap and he got a Cajun wrap. Then I got my hair cut over at Executive. I had Jo cut my rattail off today. It was looking.... well, I just didn't like the look anymore.

I went to the President Casino this afternoon (around 1:00-ish) and met Skip there. I spent $10 and played one machine. I cashed out with $24.50. That was cool! I never won before!

I left the boat and went to the St. Louis Center Mall ... to Walgreen's. I bought some cologne and such. Then I went and bought some new tennis shoes. They turned out to be on sale for only $11.xx.

I lounged around for most of the rest of the day until it was time to go on the boat ride. I had promised Skip he could come along and that I would pay for him. I did not think he would take me up on that... but he did!

Skip joined me on the river cruise. I did not realize he did not know it was a Pride St. Louis event! He was "taken aback"... but of course it did not really bother him. He really liked the performer, Celia. He bought her CD. I kind of like her music too.

Saturday - September 7, 2002

11:35p - I spent most of the day just reading book 4 of "The Belgariad." I didn't do much at all today other than take some more pictures of Carlos for his "web site." I spent WAY too money yesterday. I am not sure just WHERE I spent it all... but ... it's gone.

My acquaintance, "Carlos," asked me to take more pictures of him today. We discussed (very briefly) the movie "Signs." It was a very strange but good movie. I liked it better than I expected I would.

I had a call from the police department today. The guy who robbed us back in April (C. Nimitz) has apparently been in jail all this time. He is going to court (if I understand correctly) on October 15th. Interesting.... I hope he realizes what an error it was to deal with the Lewis Brothers!!!!

I received my PIN for the HR website this evening. I also received mail from Debby Moyer in Casselberry, FL, for the raffle tickets with the Greyhound adoption organization. I am sure I will no win, but of course it would be nice. In any event... I feel it is a good thing to have helped with the plight of the Greyhounds in their horrible dilemma.

Sunday - September 8, 2002

12:01a - I am still keeping my diary updated. I haven't missed a day in over 2 years!! I am on my 8th 24 oz. beer tonight, so I am not totally coherent. I am still managing to "ignore" the problems at work... but I know I have to continue to deal with it.

12:07a - Skip spent much of this evening looking at some really gross websites

12:32a - I have been reading through my old diary (3/6/76). It's interesting that I did not make many changes past that point.

I got laundry done today. It took a long time because it was busy down there. Around 4pm I went to Casa G. and had my customary beer, chips & dip. I have not been in there in a long time, but they still know me. I left Casa and went over to the Complex and had a few more beers. I was having a great time with languages tonight. First there was Jason who I taught a few words of Russian, then John who was interested in Esperanto. I got John's email addy, but I seem to have lost it! Darn... I really wanted to see if he wanted to get involved with EASL.

Monday - September 9, 2002

10:22a - I am cooking some mustard greens this morning. I am so hungry that I feel nauseous. I am craving some greens though.

This was a long day. I don't think I like working this late shift. It's hard on Kira too. Skip doesn't even like it.

Speaking of Skip, I was mad at him this evening. For the second time I've come home and found a plastic disposable cup in the toilet. Both times I had to put my hand in the water and pull it out it, but this time there was urine in the water since he didn't flush again! That was disgusting.

Tuesday - September 10 , 2002

8:18a - I have darts tonight, so I am on my normal schedule today. I will have to get Skip to walk Kira at noon to keep her on scheduled. I got a decent night's sleep last night and feel pretty good this morning.

8:21a - I had a dream about Barbara Jones last night. She was going to buy forty tickets from me. I am not sure what the tickets were for. Maybe raffle tickets. I was worried because I had sold some tickets already and was not sure if I would have enough left. We were standing in a front yard and traffic was going by on the street. A car, for some reason, needed to pull into the driveway, but he didn't seem to think he had enough room. Barbara asked me to move the car for her. I got in the car (or maybe I was already in the car). For some reason I was in the back seat and Barbara reached in a put the car in neutral for me. So then the car started slowly rolling in a curve down the drive way toward the other car. I had to jump out of the car and get in the front and was just barely able to keep the car from crashing in the other one. Then I woke up

I made rice and took it to work this morning. I garnished it with Quail eggs. Neither Lisa nor Gary knew what Quails were! Gary ate them, then when I showed him a picture of a Quail, he felt bad about eating "little birdie eggs." How peculiar.

I still have not finished writing my response to my evaluation. I need to get that finished, but I don't like to face it. It's so depressing and maddening.

We did pretty bad at darts tonight. Played at Rainbows again the Pickle Park guys. I ended up going over to JJ's with Jason from their team for a while. I had a pretty good time, but spent way too much money. I took $60 out of the ATM earlier today and intended to have some left over. I did, but only about $7 or so. Oh well, its only money.

This was Billy's last game. He is moving to New Orleans

Jason gave me a ride home, walked Kira with me and then we walked over to Calico's and had a bite to eat. It was pleasant to have somebody to do something with for a change. He's only 29, but it sounds like he has had his share of experiences too. Iith' onyeil' ingth' aadbe yaotbe che, she aatth' iihe sh' os' aatfe. Y'ishw' iih' aaw' aatn' Os igbe. We stayed up and chatted until about 2am, then I had to get to bed.

Wednesday - September 11, 2002

11:45a - It's a BEAUTIFUL day outside this morning. Cool and breezy. I have the window open.

I completed the "minor" list at work tonight. I also designed a new "New User" form. I hope they are impressed. I have not really put my full "abilities" into play since I worked here yet. But I have over 20 years of extreme experience. Most of these people I work with are younger than me, but think they are "better" than me... or at least they give me that impression. They just don't understand even vaguely what hell I have been through. When I act casual and "flippant" in a dire situation, it is because I know already... and again, it's hard to put to words.

Thursday - September 12, 2002

1:32a - I got Devon's album set up on her website tonight (this morning). It's kind of weird... my bed time is around 2:00-3:00am. I get up at 11:30am. Thank goodness that Kira is adjusting!

1:34a - Jason aamfr' aatl' aitn' ents' iiyelm' uut' iime. He seems like a very nice person. It may seem like a strange thing to say, but he is the first person that I have invited into my apartment that I did not know previously who did not STEAL something from me! (Other than "Floyd" ... who was here back in April when C.Nimitz stole my credit card & such).

Friday - September 13, 2002

Mostly a typical day. I worked till 10pm again tonight. I worked on my "response" to the evaluation. I am still quite disturbed by it, but I must force myself to finish it off.

I went to Union Station this evening after work. Casa G. was already closing, but Mike sold me a beer. I then went over to Key West. Scott, who used to work at Casa G. ... and now works at Hoolihan's ... was at Casa G. tonight. He was so crazy. He kept offering the girls to "show them his package." Y'ishwe Y'utk' aav' etl' imh' oshe ch'uut' iime. Ch'udw' aav' edm' aim' ede! Oh well... wishful thinking! Y'inkthe Scott sh'os' aathe!!I went next door to Key West and ordered some beer and an order of chicken fingers. My waitress was Tracy. She remembered me from before when I was there just before my trip to California. (See May 17, 2002).

I had a pleasant time over at Key West. I met Mario, who was flamboyantly gay and told me the story about how he was banned from The Complex for punching someone out. I learned the waitress' name was "Tracy." Kirsten joined me and actually bought me a beer.... so I bought here a drink too (white Russian, I think). I also met "Shannon" ... another Shannon... uuhe Y'aatth' aasw' uutkye. I took a cab home around 2:30am and paid him $6 (it was $4.xx).

Saturday - September 14, 2002

I laid around and did not much of anything today. I mostly just read my book... book #5 of the Belgariad by David Eddings. In the late afternoon I went back down to Union Station and stopped in at Casa G's. Mike was on duty. Kirsten was on duty (as usual... she must work her patraskiiye off!). I ordered he steak & mushroom quesadilla... very tasty!! I took my book with me and read a bit more. I am in the epilogue now, so here is not much left.

I met two girls there. One from Lithuania and the other from Bulgaria. I learned a couple of words in Lithuanian tonight.

Aciu (aachiiyu): Thank you.
Kaip pasakyti... (ke pasekiu...): How do you say ...
Lietus (netiuus): Rain

I later learned that the girl whose name I did not learn was from Lithuania and was headed back (after 3 months). Her friend, Pulina, is from Bulgaria and knows (or is roommates with) my walk-by acquaintance who works as a Valet Attendant for the WS Hotel.

So ... Skip showed up at Casa G. before I left and I bought him a couple of White Russians, while I proceeded to have a couple of tasty Margaritas.

We went home and I looked for my Bulgarian friend. He was not in site. I actually stepped inside and asked for him.

I got home and walked Kira. During my walk I (believe it or not) ran into the Bulgarian guy (whose name I still do not know, thought Pulina told me). I spoke to him as he jogged by me and Kira and told him that I had met Pulina His said, "Cool!" That was about it. T'be, iihe sh'os' uutkye.

Sunday - September 15, 2002

12:25a - Okay ... I have caught up the diary again. I have drank 2 of Skip's beers. I will have to replace them tomorrow.

12:26a - Well... I have food warming in the kitchen. Hope it is palatable.

I didn't do much of anything all day but watch TV. What a waste. I did catch Jason on-line and planned to have

Monday - September 16, 2002

I actually managed to sleep all the way to 11am today. I went down to the Chinese Wok and got some lunch/dinner. The work day went by fairly uneventful ... except that Applix was down most of the day.

Jason met me at home tonight. He came up at about 10:35 and we walked Kira. It's nice to have someone go with me when I walk Kira, and I think she likes it too. I breaks up her boring life a little. Then we were supposed to go out to eat, but we didn't know where we were going to go. First though, James put a ticket on his car, but fortunately, he saw us go out to car and he retracted the ticket! It's 30 minute parking and Jason was here for only 25 minutes total, so I'm glad we didn't have a hassle about it.

We drove all over trying to find a place to eat and finally ended up at that place Jack and I went to called Uncle Billy's. I decided to splurge and get the rib-eye steak and shrimp. Much to my horror, Jason insisted on paying... I have never been very gracious about such matters, but when he pointed out that I had bought dinner and drinks for him last week it made it easier. I just wish I hadn't ordered the most expensive item on the menu.

We stopped back by his apartment on the way back. It's in one of the old St. Louis houses and was really quite nice. Especially when one considers that it costs about half of what mine does and is probably twice a big (or more)..

I ended up fixing my dart page when I got home and not getting to bed until 2am. I didn't have a drop to drink to night and slept late this morning, so that's probably part of the reason.

Tuesday - September 17, 2002

8:03a - It has been cool out for the past few days. It's overcast out this morning. I am getting so accustomed to getting up at 11am now that getting up at my normal time seems way early.

8:13a - I could be a little more pert this morning, but not drinking last night helps. Time to take K-dog out now....

8:22 - I got all dressed and ready to take Kira out.... then I remembered. She is still on a steady schedule. Skip takes her out for me on Tuesday (this month) around 12 noon. I will walk he again after darts tonight.

Lisa has taken off 2 days bereavement for her uncle who just passed, so I will have to work the early shift on Wednesday too. I have scheduled 2 hours on Friday to join the Downtown Pagan Lunch Bunch to observe the low sabot Mabon (which is really on Sunday). Unfortunately, I didn't know that Lisa was also taking off on Friday, but we worked it out so that Debbie and Becky will cover the phones until 3:30p.

I had a good time at darts last night, even though we lost. I played fairly decent, even though I didn't win a game.... oh, well. It's for the fun of it. At least it didn't cost me anything since I found a $5 bill on the floor!

Jason came by as promised after his dart game at JJ's. They finished way ahead of us! We were only about 3-quarters of the way through our game when he arrived. After darts, he took me home to walk Kira, then we went to the LZ for couple of drinks. We made the mistake of "walking" back to me office to get my satchel and were pooped by the time we got back to his car. Then we went to Del Taco and got some food. I did not realize they had Del Tacos here in St. Louis. We brought the food back home and ate. By this time it was nearly 2:00am, so Jason left and I went to bed. I have to be in at 8:30a and its going to be rough tomorrow. I am going to have to ask Skip to walk Kira again to keep her on the late shift schedule.

Wednesday - September 18, 2002

8:42a - It's cloudy and overcast out again. I wonder if its going to rain all day like it did yesterday? I will not forget my umbrella this time! Well... I better get dressed. It's going to be a long day :(

8:12p - This has been such a long day. I have been exhausted. Its good to come home and have nothing planned. I am just fixing some supper (rice with a couple of chicken breasts, with broccoli on top, covered in broccoli cheddar soup and fancy mixed shredded cheese on top).

8:14p - I have been coughing a log the past few weeks. Its starting to get annoying. I suppose I am going to have to get an appointment with the doctor soon.

I went to bed early tonight... shortly after Skip got up for work. I was so tired I couldn't stand it.

Thursday - September 19, 2002

It was a rainy day today. Not much happened. Lisa was back, but she will be out again tomorrow. I was supposed to go to a Mabon luncheon, but it looks like no one is going to make it, so I will probably just go out tonight.

J worked till 10pm. At about 7:30 I took a dinner break and walked down to Tom's grill where I got a ruben sandwich and fries. I didn't actually get out of the office until nearly 10:30. I ended up catching the 10:35p train home. Walked Kira, the got dressed in a rush and went to LZ. Jason said he would meet me there (he gets off work at midnight). Xavier was there and we chatted for a while. I had not seen him in ages. Jason arrived and we closed down the bar the went to JJ's where we played some darts. Jason gave me an extra set of his that he says he never uses. I was throwing MUCH better with that set! Then Jason dropped me off at home. Y'on' iih' aantsw' uut' aav' ekse thwe-iime, t'be Y'ustg' aantk' uude ch' eche.

Friday - September 20, 2002

2:04p - It's about time for me to get ready for work. I spent my vacation time cleaning house. Skip paid me some rent money (and my OT went in the bank), so I went down and bought some cleaning supplies, incense, carpet deodorizer, jet dry, Fabreeze, and so forth. The apartment reeked, but now it smells great. Skip doesn't even know yet; he's sitting down stairs with his books & beers as usual.

2:06p - I wonder how Becky is doing at the Help Desk? She will probably be glad when I get there.

Well... as expected, they messed up my OT check. They paid me for all the hours (50 total), but 42 hours were supposed to be at my new pay rate but hey were not. <sigh> ... I knew they would screw it up.

I decided to just stay at home tonight, rather than going out partying. Skip and Diana are planning on going to Soulard Market before 11:00am in the morning and I need to go too.

I am just working on the computer, surfing the net for pictures of "rainbows" to use on my dart page. I am having D'Peach Mode & Baccardi.

Saturday - September 21, 2002

It is about 4:30am and I am still up. Despite my best intentions, I am about plastered! I am going to bed now.

Got up about 10:30a. OMG! Kira had an accident near the bathroom door. How gross! I "poked it" with my toe, not knowing what it was. YUCK!!! Ran in the bathroom cussing and stuck my foot in the tub to wash it off. Gag. This is NOT the way to start off a day.

Skip and Diana have already left without me! If I had known they were going to do that, I would have stayed in bed longer. How rude. Oh well... I will go to the market alone. No big deal... just irritating.

I bought a lot of stuff. Over $24.00 worth of spices. Lots of veggies. Some chicken breasts, a little hamburger meat and some pork steaks, and a half pound of bacon (which I will use more for seasoning than anything). I also met a Dineh (Navajo) guy selling hand crafted jewelry and bought a kokopelli bracelet with coyote bones. I learned from him the work for 'thank you' as Na'.

I have spent hours chopping and packing produce this afternoon! It's an arduous process. Skip bought a couple of hens and plans to have an autumn fest tomorrow... which (conveniently) is Mabon (i.e., the "Fall Equinox"). He called Jack and invited him and Adam over. A homey celebration of Mabon would be nice. I hope it all works out.

7:14p - Kira freaked out while ago and started barking. She wanted me to look out the window and she would not take "no" for an answer. Someting was seriously agitating her. I got up to see what it was and lo and behold, there was a flight of hot air baloons drifing over downtown St. Louis and the Edward Jones Dome (formerly the TWA Dome). I think she was most upset about the giant, pink, Energizer bunny baloon. I took some pictures (out of my very dirty window which they STILL have not cleaned!!).

7:17p - I have not eaten much of anything today. I had a thin slice of ham, a piece of cheesecake (that Skip and Diana bought), and a few nibbles of veggies as I was chopping. Now I have had about 3 beers too, but I really have not had any food.

7:20p - I need to take Kira out now. Her schedule has been so messed up these past two months with my working overtime and/or late schedules. She has had about 3 major "accidents" now since August, which is VERY rare. I will be glad when I get back on track again. I think they are looking to hire a temporary person to work the help desk at night for a short term basis until we get stabilized.

7:40p - That was a pleasant walk. It is a beautiful evening out this evening. A soft breeze, not hot, not cold... just wonderful. I love walking through the garage by the Radisson and smell the grill. It smells of cooking steaks and makes my mouth water.

7:44p - I am going back to the kitchen to continue with my processing This has been an awesome task! I am going to peel garlic cloves and put them in a container of olive oil now...

8:06p - I got 2 cloves of garlic peeled. I put them in an old Nopalitos jar. I think its a pint jar and filled it nearly half full. I put into it some garlic power, onion powder, some fresh twigs of thyme, ground black pepper, cayenne and some italian seasoning/herbs. Shook it up well, and place it in the fridge.

8:09p - Jason wanted me to go out with him tonight, but I don't know if I can handle it. I am so tired and I am already having some beers.

8:35p - Darkman III was on and went off at 8:00p ... and came on again at 8:00p! I am half way watching it. I haven't seen it before, but the series is getting tiresome.

8:37p - I am going back to the kitchen now. I have not done a thing with the meat I bought today as of yet.

9:09p - I got the hamburger put away, but there was only 2 lbs. I put on some rice for Kira's supper.

9:25p - The rice is done... its smells AWESOME!! I've been chatting on-line with Jo. She's my hair dresser and a really "cool chick." I still need to put the chicken and pork away. I put the bacon away already. Then I need to pureé and freeze the basil, thyme and cilantro into cubes.

10:07 - The pork is all put away and I am started on the chicken now. Jason called a few moments ago and I invited him to our little Mobonfest on the morrow. He gets off at 4pm though, so maybe we can delay things... I will have to coordinate with Skip & Jack. Poor Adam... he never seems to get consulted for these things!

10:09p - I am on beer #6 and still have not eaten! I need to get my food processing finished and make something to eat. Okay... back to the kitchen... <dramatic sigh>

10:36 - I got one 3 lb. bag of chicken prepared. A total of 6 half breasts. Four of them I did with lemon/butter flavor, lemon peel, black pepper and fresh basil. The other two I made with Mexican flavors, red onion, cilantro... etc. They are SO festive!! Now I have to go do the other 3 lbs. I'm not sure what I will do with them. I am SO tired :(

10:54p - I got the chicken all put away finally. I was VERY festive with it! The only thing I really have left to do is the herbs. I think I will finish this beer and stir fry up something.

11:30p - Beer #6 is gone... supper is cooking. (smells GREAT!). I am watching Buffy (I have no clue what's going on... I miss too many episodes. Howeve, I know this is an older episode since Buffy's mysterious "little sister" was present. Oh, whatever... back to the kitchen. I am hungry!!!!

11:39 - I just opened a one-liter bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper. I checked under the lid and I just won my 6th free liter!

11:45 - This pork/rice dish I made is excellent. But I am getting full. oh... Buffy just went off. I think I will wake Skip soon.

Sunday - September 22, 2002
Merry Mabon!!
...and Happy Birthday to Mitch Selfridge

12:07a - I went to the bathroom a few minutes ago and while I was in there I heard Skip's alarm go off and then his voice blurting out some curses. When I exited the toilet, I asked him what was wrong (he was in bed, of course). He said the alarm went off and he thought he was late for work. (lol)

12:05a - I must go to bed soon... but, I am still eating. This rice concoction is great!

12:18a - I am going to bed shortly... I am pooped. I spent the entire day shopping and chopping!

Skip went shopping this morning, then cam home and started cooking. Jack and Adam came over around 2:00pm and we carried everything up to the roof. It was a bit windy up there, but it is a beautiful day! I was very pleasant. Adam had an appointment and had to leave shortly after we ate, but Jack stayed a while and we took our cameras and Kira and went for a walk down by the river. It was a nice walk and Kira really enjoyed herself. Her limp is just barely detectable now.

I spent the evening at home again, mostly working on the computer. I updated my "Lee's Place" page. I also went hunting & gathering for some graphic images.

Skip went to work the usual time and I went to bed about 1:00p.

Monday - September 23, 2002

12:00p- It's another beautiful day outside! I took Kira for her walk. Lisa Z. says its hectic at work... I will be joining her shortly. I would rather go for a walk in a forest somewhere... I love this weather.

12:55 - It's time to go to work. I would rather stay home and finish watching the first episode of "Slider." Darn.

Dr. Yin brought PC in for me to work on tonight. I loaded Citrix and set him up. Everything went amazingly smooth. He brought me some bo-tzu for supper... like pot-stickers. I have no idea if I am spelling it right.

10:55p I am feeling kind of sick. I saw my face in the bathroom mirror earlier and I was all red in the face and flushed. I hope I am not coming down with something. I am hoping its the sore that popped up on the right side of my tongue causing it. Sometimes one gets a fever...or "malaise" along with aphthous ulcers. I have a headache with this too. The base of the skull & neck type headache. Tension probably.

10:56p - I was on line with Jodi much of the day. She got the number to the Volusia County Branch Jail and later this evening I called them and verified that Chad is there. I got his ID number and wrote him a letter I dropped it in the mail for him this evening.

Tuesday - September 24, 2002

It was 55 degrees when I walked to the train depot this morning.

Made a festive rice dish for my work-mates this morning. Then we went on a tour of the Center for Advanced Medicine. The work they have to to put the CT scanner on the 3rd floor is awesome (not to mention EXPENSIVE!). Two layers of layered steel with an outer shell of ground copper sheilding for the entire area. On top of steep beams being threaded through the structre to suppor th weight of these huge machines was just awesome. I took my digital camera, but could not go with everyone into one area because of the high level of magnetism which would be damaging to my equipment! That was frustrating, but simultaneoulsy fascinating! The purpose of the tour was to familiarize us with some of the new areas we will be supporting, but in reality it gave me a sense of purpose far beyond that. I am proud to be a part of such a massive undertaking... on the cutting edge of technology in not only our nation, but the world in at large!

The dart game did not go very well tonight. Y'aatth' iith' aig' aany' iith' uthyeirth' iimte (aib' iith' emn' aavye Jerry), asw' eveir' uutkye. Iih' iimds' uut' inkthe Y'aasw' uutky' uute. But their team was the top team in the leauge and they slaughtered us, twelve to "zip." So sad :( Oh well, emiib' iiw' ilw' uud' orm' etbeirt' eksn' aimte! ... uuh' osne? I would rather win though.

Jason gave me a ride over to JJ's where I had some drinks and he played some more darts. Jerry aasw' erthe uute. Iihe sh'uchs' ey' urnt' aanye! Iiw' istk' aany' iith' iplse! Che sh'uut' aadb' iih' aasy' ey' uvluurve. Je le pense est très attirant. C'est la vive! Jason m'a indiqué qu'il a un amoureux. Cependant, il m'a également dit qu'ils jouent du côté! Comment intéressant.... :)

1:22a - Es ist sehr spät. Oder früh. Abhängen nach Ihrem Gesichtspunkt. Mi bezonas iri liton baldaux. Jason gave me a ride home from JJ's and joined me while I took K-dog for her walk. We had a very long and interesting discussion which I enjoyed very much. Es mi problema de que no puedo ocupar de una relación en este tiempo. Pero lo pienso deseo uno. Las cosas cambiarán quizá. Veremos qué sucede. Para ahora, apenas deseo a amigo. Well... I am sleepy... must go to bed.

This was a long day. They had to bring MIR-05-06 down for emergency maintenance at 5pm till 5am.

I went to Casa G. after work. I ordered a bunch of food. Happy hour lasts all night on Wednesday. I got an order of steak & mushrooms quesadillas, and two orders for one-dozen drumettes (for $1.99 each!). When I sat down, I realized I was sitting next to Brandi, the girl Skip introduced me to back in May. She left and shortly there after Ryan and Nicole from Hardrock came in a sat next to me. Ryan was fun to chat with. Y'iinkth' iihe sh' uutkye! When I got home, Skip was there.... he should have been at work. He over slept! That's not good :(

I ate the quesadillas, but the drumettes will have to wait for a while. Oh... my mouth has been full of aphthous ulcers again for the last few days. It's wearing me out.

Thursday - September 26, 2002

1:26a - Diary is caught up. Time for bed. Kira has eaten (late). Skip is not going to work. Oh, well. I am tired.

I went out for a bit after work. Xavier called me and wanted me to join him. I ended up losing my darn cell phone.

Friday - September 27, 2002

I felt terrible this morning. Fortunately it was light work today. I left work early and monitored the phones from home. I went to bed early.

Saturday - September 28, 2002

I got up around 9:30 I think. I caught the 1:42 bus out to Telegraph Road to the South County Wal-Mart this afternoon. I bought a new telephone to replace the one that got stolen last April (finally). I also bought a new Alan Dean Foster book. And some of the cologne like I bought in Califoria last May (for $1 a bottle). One bottle turned out to be for women (I hadn't noticed). I gave it to Diana.

It was a tiring excursion. I missed the 4:53p bus back and had to catch the 5:53 bus. Skip paged me and said he was thinking about going to Talayna's.

I got home and put things away. I opened up the telephone, but someone had stolen the battery out of it, so I guess I will have to go buy a batter (for some un-godly price) over at Radio Shack tomorrow. Anyway, I caught the train down to Talayna's where I met up with Skip. He was not as drunk as I expected him to be, but that did not last for long. He then went with me to LZ and I bought him some drinks and he went over the edge! I was rough getting him home. Poor thing... I felt bad for having bought him the drinks. He will probably not remember the trip home at all. Which is a good thing... everyone was laughing at him (but it was fairly sympathetic... not really cruel).

11:29p - Skip is conked out on the sofa now. I made his bed for him, but he could not get his clothes off, so he will have to sleep where he is until he regains enough of his senses to get properly in bed (or "sofa" as the case may be).

11:31p - Time for bed....

11:32p - I just thought... I got drunk Thursday night, Jodi got trashed on Friday, and Skip got drunk tonight. I wonder whose turn it is tomorrow? (Hope its not MY turn again!)

Sunday - September 29, 2002

3:01p - I got up about 8:30 this morning, took my vitamins, took Kira for a walk, and came back in and began my laundry. I got that done around 11:30. Around 12:30 I went over to the mall and was able to get the battery for the phone. I also picked up the first two books of The Mallorean series (which follows the 5 books of The Belgariad).

3:09 - I'm chatting with Jodi on line. Poor dear, she has her car all fixed, but doesn't have the money for insurace, tags, and all the fixin's. Sometimes I am all too happy to NOT have a car these days. No tickets, insurance, parking, or any such.
