Kira


	I was told that Kira is half Chow and half Pitt Bull, but she looks like (and acts like) a Black Laborador. Only her eyes show any of her Pitt ancestry. She was born in June of 1993, so she is now 8 years old. That is considered "senior" in the dog world. She is the epitome of loyalty and devotion; and very protective.

Likes

- Basking in the sun on a warm Florida day. (Except we aren’t in Florida any more!)

- She loves Pistachios and Fritos (if I let her have them)

- Following me everywhere I go! Room to room... inside, outside. She has been laying at my feet the entire time I created this page!

- What she REALLY wants is to catch a squirrel! She checks out these trees looking for one every day.

- She likes to watch late night TV. She has learned how to use the remote (if its pointing the right way) to turn the TV on. I've been

- Being scolded. - Thunder - Having her feet tickled. - Having people step over her while she's sleeping. ...(Ask Chris!)

awakened more than once at 2:30 in the morning by the TV, to find Kira sitting at the end of my bed watching Jay Leno!

- Of all Kira's "likes" ... her favourite must be to "gofer ride!" She LOVES to "go bye-bye" Sadly, my engine went bad in May and I moved to St. Louis in June... I had to leave my car behind.

	Dogs are no longer true carnivores. After 30,000 years of domestication, they are now actually omnivorous and require a certain amount of vegetables and grains in their diet. I was amazed to learn this!

Safety Tip


	A simple precaution to protect your pet: Get a light coloured nylon collar and use a marker to write on it the pet's name and your phone number. (I have also added a glow in the dark tag (from a key chain) to help make her more visible at night.)
