After I left skating, I got this picture from my former partner, Debby. She continued competing. Her and/or her brother, Doug, inherited Semoran Skateway and I think they both manage it now. This was Debby's picture of her and her new partner at Nationals in 1994. This was right about the same time that I was in my major car wreck in which I nearly lost my right leg, damaged my left hip and incurred a head injury which resulted in a permanent Vestibular Disorder call BPPV (or, "Benign Paroxysmal Position Vertigo"). More simply put, I get dizzy when I move and have no sense of balance without visual reference. (Turn out the lights and I may fall over!) I have not skated since, except for one ill-advised attempt back in the Fall of 2000 in which I attempted to skate in-tow behind Kira, my dog. I am happy to report that I survived THAT!

Today, Debby works with the Greyhound Pets of America. Click the link to visit their site.
