In early 1991, members of KLAW "invaded" Tinker Field in Orlando, Florida. This captured the interest of the local News Media which was then WCPX Channel 6. In the Spring of 1991, Marita Haack (now "Ellixson") and myself (Lee Lewis) attended our first Star Trek convention at the Holiday Inn on International Drive in Orlando. Guest speakers included Michael Dorn (Lt. Worf) and Michelle Forbes (Ens. Ro Laren) of ST:TNG fame. We also saw our first fans "in costume" ... including Scott Kuhr in his Klingon persona of Captain Khur. Before long we were both caught up in the fun and were soon attending meetings of the Klingon Legion of Assault Warriors ("KLAW"), going to more conventions, learning to speak tlhInghan Hol (the Klingon language) and just generally having a blast. On October 12, 1991, we founded the Theld of jubchuQun and we have remained and grown for over a decade!
